D2D lied and At&t says to bad

Last December U-verse was installed in my area and they had a Door to Door campaign. So the package they offered was realistic and going through problems with comcast I thought why not. That is when the problems started. First they still have not ported my number over or given an answer yet to why still waiting for that promised call. Don't worry At&t I fix that myself on my dime. Now the new problem I have is when myself and my neighbors asked what happens after 6 months at this special rate. The sales person replied, here is number and wrote it on the booklet and call it before your 6 months is over to RENEW your rate. By the way the number is for AT&T billing. So I called the number to renew my rate and billing said that is not our policy and redirected me the retention department. No on the phone with the retention department they kind of laughed and said they do not renew rate and that they need to recoup the money they lost with the intro rates. She came out and said that they will fire the salesman and there is nothing they can do. Well AT&T that is great service is there anybody that can give answers

Most D2D sales people are contractors and not AT&T employees so they say pretty much anythign to get the sale because they will probably be gone by the time your promo runs out.

The promo rate you're describing is for new customers, when it expires you are charged the normal price for the services you have, this is how it works with all providers not just AT&T, you were lied to when the D2D told you to call in and have the promo renewed. My advice is to call retentions back, state your case and ask if there's something they are willing do to keep you as a customer. There is a good chance they will offer you something, however it won't be near what you were paying for the promo.
