Help!! I Canceled DSL service with ATT in March. But still gets monthly bills after March.

I canceled my DSL service with ATT on March 19th. I called ATT CSR on March 19th. ATT CSR told me to wait for two weeks for final bill/credit.
I waited, but the final bill was not correct: they added "April monthly bill" to my March month bill. Not knowing what the heck is happening, I paid that anyway. Now ATT owes me some money!!!! (I DID NOT use their DSL Service since MARCH 19)
Couple of weeks ago, I received another Bill from ATT, says the monthly bill for May is due on May 19.
So Apparently, the bill system is totally messed up, ATT accounting/bill did not know that I canceled the service on March 19, so ATT accounting/bill system keeps sending me bills.
Guess what,
Yesterday, I received another bill from ATT for June monthly payment! CSR told me to ignore that. but if I listen to what CSR says, ATT will send me to collection and my Credit will be ruined!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I beg you, ATT. Please stop that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't want to be sent to collection.

Contact Jam, the AT&T Community Manager that has helped many users, by Private Message (her response, blue letter in upper right are PMs). Include your full name, account # and good phone #.:

Thanks, just did.
The repeating theme here is the CSR always always says "no prolem, issue solved, just wait, ignore that bill."
But the bill keeps coming and coming....
quite a few folks on this forum have experienced the same thing, making you wonder....
I don't know if I should send AT&T a certified written letter to document this, just in case, 1 or 2 years later, a surprise collection call knocks you out with "hundreds" of dollars of phantom "Late payment" you "supposedly" owe AT&T.
If I see that, I think I will have a heart attack and pass out.
Seriously, how difficult could it be to close out? AT&T, please don't make it more complicated/stressful than a divorce. Come on.

Did you ever get your problem resolved? I am experiencing the same exact thing. Called and cancelled my DSL service on April 17th 2012, which happened to be the last day of my billing cycle, which would have meant no more bills. But the bills keep coming. I have received two additional bills since I've cancelled my service.
