Never been more disappoint ed in my life!!

I set up my new service through directTV, after having a great conversation with a rep from Att and directTV over the phone. I was told that my Att service would be 19.99 a month for xx amount of time, no install fees, and no equiment fees. I was very excited!! About a week later, I recieved a letter in the mail stating that I was going to have a deposit with my new service. I called because I knew that this had to be a mistake. After a great conversation with another very nice rep, I was assured that I would have no fees, and I was still going to have a 19.99 u-verse internet set up on xx date. Great. She also confirmed that this was set up on auto pay, bundled with my directTV service. About 2 weeks later I recieved a card in the mail that was confussing. I called on this, and the next rep said not to worry, everything was set up, and that I would get it still auto deducted from my account and was still getting 19.99 service. At this point, I was starting to get worried.
Last night....I come home to my service shut off, my directTV shut off (even though my service through directTV has been paid for a few months out of my checking account). I called Att, after being on hold for 65 minutes, I finally was able to talk to a rep that said she was sorry, but had to transfer me to someone that could take care of those charges for me. I sat on hold for another 20 minutes or so, and then the call disconnected...are you kidding me!!! I tried to call back again. Got the same thing, I was going to have to be transfered to someone else to fix it. I sat on hold again for nearly an hour before that call was again disconnected. My husband than called, I had thrown in the towel on the matter. He sat on hold for a short period and was told he had to be transferred to the correct person. He was transferred to a department that was closed, then when he tried to call back, everywhere was closed.... My $19.99 bill was over $300. And because Att shut off my service, directTV shut it off as well. I still can not get to a person to help me, but it seems like no one wants to help me.

Hi Abbie, it definately sounds like there's been too many uncoordinated hands mucking about in your account. I would suggest calling the 2020 number again (during normal business hours), but this time, when you get the robo-voice, keep saying "none of those". When you get a human, insist that they transfer you to the Retention Department. The people there should be able to resolve your problems.
You could also send a message to Alex and he will have someone call you within a couple days to help you. He will reply to you in a Private Message, which you can access throught the little blue envelope icon in the upper right corner of this page.

After another 45 minutes or so of this, they said they are not going to remove the charges. After asking for someone who could remove the charges, they stated that transferred us to someone at DirectTV, and they have no way to remove charges from another company. Worst customer service ever. Completely dissapointed. As soon as my cell phone lines are done with their contract, I will be removing all services from Att.
