I can not believe how incompetent AT&T has become! I JUST SPENT 4 HOURS on the phone with the billing department two weeks ago about my bill being grossly over charged. The guy tells me the usual, I am so sorry, bla, bla, bla, I will correct the bill and your BALANCE DUE is .48, thats right, FOURTY EIGHT CENTS!!! Which will be added to your next month bill. Well, I just got the next bill, $65.00!!!!! I agreed to $19.95 PER MONTH when I switched to Uverse. But yet EVERY month, I have to call these incompetent air heads and spend HOURS on the phone getting it corrected! I even had one clown practically call me a liar, saying that AT&T does not offer Uverse for that price. Had to go over her head to a manager that time. Funny thing is, the guy I spoke with last, said my records do indeed state that my bill is supposed to be $19.95 a month. I am seriously starting to wonder if AT&T is intentionally overbilling their customers, hoping the customer doesnt notice. SOMEBODY BETTER LOOK INTO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it's Uverse internet IPDSLAM ADSL 2/2+, the credits will show up on the 3d billing month to bring it down to the promo price and continue at the promo price for the rest of the 12 month term. ![]()

What good does that do when the customer is told $19.95 from Day 1? Also, if the bill isn't paid then you're either considered delinquent, issued Service Charges, & you're services are cut off. What then?
Unluckily, that is the way they've handled promo prices on ADSL for more than a decade (from SBC to now ATT).

My suggestion is to file a complaint with the BBB.
It's quick and one of the best ways to hold these larger companies accountable.
I filed one yesterday for similar reasons and already have received a response.

AGREED
why after calling for months, stating the same facts.
the facts that they offered one thing to BEGIN with.
new service, new promotion. does not mean charge regular price for 2 - 3 months, then give your new customer the promotional rate. AFTER they call and complain over and over and over.
in my case that offer never existed at the time of its actual offer to me, so i'll never get what i was offered by ATT.
Posting to thier forums, about the problem. Then you have to turn around and again message someone who moderates the boards to get recognition. However it's obvious the moderator sees the posts and wont do anything more until a PM is recieved.
Classic loop in a corporate world.
please hold, oh i cant handle this , "please hold" so i can get someone else.
just tell me all about it, oh well i cant handle it...
give a company what it wants, and they deny you what they offered in the first place.
ick

That would be correct, why should the Community Managers waste their time contacting every ranter, one post wonder and troll when they could be spending their time helping those that actually request it via a PM.

Of course AT&T is hoping that it's customers don't notice they are being overbilled. And then they make it so difficult to actually solve the problem that the customers who do notice and actually do try give up after one or two or ten phone calls.
I've been dealing with several issues, and have just hit another one--overbilled for internet that I had a promotional price for but I made the mistake of moving and trying to take AT&T with me.Silly me! Even affter being told twice that my promotional price would follow me, it hasn't. And now I try to call and they tell me they are closed.
(On a side note, the recording first told me that they were experiencing a large volume of calls and wait times are extremely long--trying to get me to hang up--and then they transfer me and they are closed. What's that all about??)
I am seriously considering cancellng my service completely and going without. (I live in a rural area, and AT&T is the only option here.) I can squint and see internet on my (non-AT&T) cell phone, right?

Still getting overbilled, still getting the run around from AT&T, still sick of the stupid automated voice garbage I have to deal with every time I try and contact AT&T. Today I received another ignorant automated voice message telling me my service was subject to disconnection for an overdue amount owed. A TOTALLY INCORRECT AMOUNT OWED!!!!!!!!
