I have some advice for anyone wanting to start new service with at&t. BE PREPAIRED TO GET A BILL FOR A LOT MORE THAN THEY TELL YOU ABOUT. BE PREPARED FOR EXTRA CHARGES YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TOLD ABOUT. BE PREPARED TO PAY 2 MONTHS BILLS AT ONCE.
they lied to me when i called about new service. i was not told i woud be charged $100.00 for a modem. I was not told I would have a charge of 36.00 activation fee. I was not told i would have to pay 2 bills at once. they did set up payment arragements but the first bill was a shock when i saw it was 372.90.
BEWARE: I WAS LIED TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Self-install with no TV equals modem fee, it's in the details.
First bill, even second will be much higher because of pro-rated charges. Sadly, we've all been there.
Why are there 2 bills at once? Sounds like you have more than just Internet with that amount; maybe there has been a mistake in billing?
Try contacting Alex, one of the AT&T Community Managers for further assistance.
