Like others that posted this same issue... AT&T mailed be an offer for "$200 Cash Back when ordering new U-Verse TV U-200 or higher on line. I placed the order, the service was installed However when I went to the AT&T cash back reward center I was told I only qualified for a $50 reward. I called the Reward Center and was advised that I was only getting a $50 reward and a monthly credit on my Internet service (a credit that I was already receiving before ordering U-Verse). I still have the original solicitation and it plainly states "Order online & get $200 CASH BACK" absolutly no mention of $50 cash back and a bill credit anywhere in the flyer.
Yeah, but what did the terms of service have to say about the $ amt and did you read all the fine print as somewhere on that flyer it should have spelled out what you had to actually had to do to get $200 and not just $50. Did you wait the 30 days to go to the reward center, or did you go earlier and all may not have posted yet? Here is the current offer:
$200 Cash Back Offer: Online Orders Only. Offer ends 09/19/09. Residential customers ordering new AT&T U-verse U200 TV or higher. Redemption details provided to customer 30 days after activation. $200 cash back redemption requires customer to retain qualifying service a minimum of 30 days and at time processing of reward is completed. Check will be sent within 4-6 weeks following redemption of reward to eligible customers.
In my case last July, I went to the reward center to redeem my $200, no problem, the check mailing was set up. Go back to check on my reward, get in an unending login circle jerk. So I call, they cancelled my rebate, did the suggested 3-way phone call w/CS which didn't get anywhere until I made a bit of a fuss and got a reward center supervisor who's first words are "why'd they cancel this 20 times? something's wrong here". She started going through the offers (I had saved my terms of the offer from online) and found the one I saved, then verified I had u200 or higher and Uverse internet. Said she would investigate and I'd hear from her w/in a week, sure enough another person from ATT calls and says the check has been mailed and got it 2 days later.

I was just reading about some of the rebate issues here.

We signed up for AT&T u-verse t.v. and internet. We were promised a 6 month discounted rate and 2 $100 gift cards. After redeeming my first gift card I logged onto the rewards center. Was told online my next [$100] reward would be available for redemption in 30 days. I went to redeem said reward and the internet site claimed I wasn't eligible. I called rewards center and was told the same as previous bloggers "we received the $100 reward as a discount on our bill." I was mis-informed and feel taken advantage of. I am currently on the phone with Comcast (my previous servious provider) reconnecting our service. AT&T is a scam. I will mention it to all my friends, family and co-workers. Bad business!
Sincerely,
Former AT&T customer, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida
p.s. Comcast is offering us a great deal to switch to them. Apparently they offer a ONE YEAR deal for current AT&T customers to switch.

So I just came across this. I had the same thing happen to me but didn't call and complain (which was stupid I realize) this was back in November of 2009 I believe. Does anyone know if I can call now and get my money that is owed to me? Please say yes!!

Owl, I can't say anything, because me, along with everyone else here is not an employee.
I suggest you call and push it a bit. Let me tell you why.
First, there are some class actions brewing. Second, a friend of mine who has had U-verse for over 1 year now, suddenly unexpectedly got a rebate card in the mail saying in essence: we did an audit, and found you were owed this. Sounds like something is brewing that got ATT's attention.
My story? Well, I was promised $500. I got the first $200 no problem, as expected. The next $200 and $100 took a call. I called, told them I printed all the fine print, and have proof I'm owed it. That was all it took, I got the cards. I'm not happy it took the extra call, but they were prompt about it once I called.
Some advice to those thinking about signing up:
1) Read the print, take a screen shot of your computer (don't just hit "print", it may not work in your browser), and save that image and print it. Make sure all the fine print is there.
2) Follow the instructions. There are date restrictions. And a lot of these rebates are on-line only. You might kill the rebate by calling them to order.
3) Promptly activate the cards. May require logging in or calling. Don't delay when you get a notice you have one.
4) Once you have the cards, use them! Get your money out! Make it worth your while. Make ATT pay. You may have to take a few extra steps like paying for gasoline at the clerk's counter instead of at the pump. You should pay attention to the balance. Zero out the card by either making the last transaction of an exact amount, or easier yet, go to a place like Amazon or Starbucks or any other stable retailer that doesn't eat card balances and buy credits for the exact remaining amount.

THIS ISN'T TRUE, WE WERE ONE OF THE FIRST TO GET UVERSE SEVERAL YEARS AGO, AND OUR FOUR CHILDREN HAVE SINCE JOINED THE PLAN.
WE ALL HAVE GOTTEN THE MONEY THEY SAID, IF YOU FOLLOW THE RULES AND DO WHAT IS ASKED OF YOU WHEN YOU FILL OUT THE CLAIM FORMS AND GO THE REWARDS SECTION OF THE ATT PAGE. WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH ATT-UVERSE, SURE THERE HAS BEEN SOME GLITCHES BUT OVER ALL THEY HAVE FOLLOWED THRU WITH ALL THE PROMISED

My story is very different. I switched to AT&T Uverse in June. I assumed the $200 rebate would just be mailed to me. As of today, I had not received it. I checked online and learned that my rebate was expired. When calling Customer Service, the recorded message said something about a letter that I should have received. I hadn't. Once I spoke with a rep (extremely nice...Meridith) and told her my story, she put me on hold and 2 minutes later the rebate was "reactivated" and I was given a confirmation number and told the rebate would be in the mail in 4-6 weeks. Problem solved! Overall, the fastest resolution to a problem I can remember having with any company.
