I switched over from Comcast because we were trying to reduce our bills. My husband had just had a liver transplant and his monthly meds were taking it's toll. Comcast would do nothing. So we decided to call AT&T. They offered me a great deal. I could get the Uverse service installed for $34.95, plus $100 for the modem, he said he would give me a $100 Visa gift card to cover the modem cost. Then my service would be $24.95 per month for 12 months. I thought this is a great deal. I was so happy to be able to more than cut 50% off my Internet bill.
Well I think maybe it was all done just to get me to sign up. My first bill was $236, almost 5 times what I was paying before with Comcast. The Visa card never came. They keep telling me 4 weeks. It's been 10 weeks and nobody will look up anything for me. The customer support lady told me I need to take it easy and be happy your husband is healthy now and don't sweat the small things. LOL Told me the Visa cards in the mail. The next bill I got was $52, now I've paid $288 for 2 months of Internet. Wow, what a bargain. I will never trust another comapny, no matter how nice the salesperson sounds. Get it in writing. I asked for an email. None was ever sent. I was told I would be contacted by someone else after I placed the order. No one ever called or emailed. Now they have me locked in to a one year contract, seems they promise you everything to get you pass the 30 day point of no return. I hope one day we can have a company that offers Internet or Cable services with some type of ethics.
Thanks At&T

Sorry you are having problems. I ordered U-Verse tv and internet on 6/29. Install took place on 6/30 and all billing has been as specified on the internet site when I ordered it. I ordered my rebate cards 30 days after install and received them 2 weeks later ($150). I am receiving a $53 per month discount for 6 months. While this does not help you, it does illustrate that U-Verse works perfectly for many of us.

Contact the Better Business Bureau. AT&T seems to have a lot of dishonest sales representatives. I was promised something similar to no avail. I would hold off on paying any further bills. Call in and tell them what you were promised. Ask them if the AT&T representative lied. I would file the complaint with the BBB ASAP, it's a third party group that will help resolve your problems with AT&T's dishonesty. Fight it, don't pay the bill. Good luck.

Only if your goal is to have your service terminated due to non-payment.
If you have issues that are have not been resolved, instead of filing a complaint with the BBB, send a PM to Alex who is an AT&T Community Manager on this forum. Also, check the settings on your account to make sure that you will receive email notification when a PM is received on this forum.

Sorry Fitzgerald, your remarks prove nothing. The overwhelming evidence on this forum is against your point of view. It took long hours to finally receive my rebate card. The designated url to activate my account didn't acknowledge my code. I had to call and recall to finally get an exasperated CS rep to mail out my card. The whole att system is out of synch with itself. {keep it courteous}
