I want to start by saying that I really LOVE my uverse service. We have had this service for about a year and we had been telling all our friends and family to get the uverse that is how much we love it. Now here is my/our problem---> we are moving to a new address and att uverse equipment does not transfer and we need to have anothe account set up and send the 3 cable boxes, plus the dvr box and the internet box that we have back and a tech will come out and bring new equipment to our new home. That did not make sense but hey we have no problem with doing that because that is att policy now here comes the slap in the face. We were told that because of some late payments (only late but they were paid and it is current at this time) we would have to pay $450 to get the equipment in our new home. Now if we dont move we can continue to have service and att uverse is fine with that but if we move we will be punished for the late payments (again they were late but they were paid). Also we were told that the $450 is not a security deposit but its to pay for the uverse equipment (the same equipment that we already have). I really wish that someone would contact me [text removed] and explain this to me. At this time Iam forced to go to Comcast and I really really really dont want to go with them but my hands are tide. Att uverse is forcing us to do this. I am so confused, hurt and frustrated by this whole thing.

They have cracked down on the equipment policies due to people taking boxes with them (stealing), instead of returning them. Boxes are useless unless ATT provisions them, and they are tied to an address at this time.
Agree, they need to change the moving policy though, IMO. Right now, you cannot take your equipment with you or keep your old pricing if you move. Equipment must be taken to an authorized UPS store, boxed up and sent back (make sure you keep the tracking receipt!).
Would be nice to just take equipment and have ATT re-provision it at your new address, but not at this time.
They've gotten tougher on credit checks for sure.
I'm not happy about credit reporting agencies either, some states even use them for insurance policy pricing!
Anyone else you know (or in your household) with no late payments on their credit report? Get them to put the account in their name as the responsible party?
