Any Hope For Those Of Us Left On IFITL?

I live in Suwanee, GA (30024 - off Westbrook Rd), in a neighborhood served by the old BellSouth IFITL. We were passed over by the cable companies who are not interested in the investment required to add us to their network. Consequently, we are "stuck" with IFITL and max speeds of 1.5. We have been holding out hope that AT&T would upgrade our network, but recent events suggest that we are being left in the dust yet again (BellSouth had an upgrade plan in the works at the time AT&T purchased them and stopped everything - yay). So the question is...are we forgotten, or will something EVER happen to improve our speeds? I am a Clear subscriber, but so many people have flocked to them to escape the slow speeds that the towers are congested most of the time and speeds not much better than our IFITL. I would like to one day experience the internet like everyone else and would gladly go whole hog for Uverse TV and internet (as would just about everyone else here...). Kurt

If it's Bell South's daisy ring system for fiber connection, ATT would have to tear it all out and rebuild the whole system to give you Uverse.  The current system goes to to each house around in a circle interconnected, ATT needs a separate line to each house from the VRAD.  Don't think they'll be doing that very soon.

Sweet.  My only hope for internet service is Clear.  That's just swell...

I never thought I would favor governmnet intervention, but this industrty stinks at providing access to the utility.
