Frustrating day with AT&T. We can't get email on one account. We've reset the password and double checked the settings on IPhone and Desktop Mac and it still says either account name or password is incorrect, but they are not. I even tried deleting the account and starting over. AT&T doesn't seem to respe t me as a customer and wants $50 to fix the problem. Any Suggestions.

To verify that you user ID and password are correct, log into your email account online.
If your user ID and password are correct, you are missing something in the setup on the iPhone and the email client on the Mac.

I'll try to figure out how to do that...never use it. Here is what I found on the AT&T site..but they have been no help.
We have identified several intermittent login and password-related issues that may impact your ability to log in to your accounts, including email:
- Your email passwords suddenly stop working.
- After password reset, you are still unable to access email.
- You are getting caught in password reset loops.
- The Remember Me password option for email doesn't always work.
- You are unable to send/receive email with new mail settings.
We are working to resolve these issues. If your email password isn't working, you may need to reset it.
If you are experiencing any of the symptoms above and have been unsuccessful accessing your email or resetting your password, please Contact Us for more assistance.

When I go to the email access it is only available for the primary account...how do I
1. access email for sub accounts and
2. even though I've changed the password for the problem account multiple times I want to try that again and I can't find where to do that.

After two hours on the phone with AT&T they finally transferred me to Apple...even though it was clearly an AT&T problem. Apple suggested I try setting up the email as Yahoo and that worked. The only downside is that the email appears in the menu as Yahoo instead of the user name, but at least I'm able to send and receive email. There is a notice on AT&T site that indicates it is a known problem, but with no solution.

Same thing is occurring with me.
Can only access my AT&T email via AT&T web/online.
Web support brings no success following the instructions to the letter.
After over a half hour on the phone, password reset, still not working,AT&T telling me it's not on their end,$50 to talk to a qulaified Mac savy tech.

Open an account. Set it up on Macmail.
From Gmail, download all your at&t stuff. In at&t mail profile, set it to forward mail to your Gmail account.
