Hi everyone,
Great conversation about the option to view/listen to VM messages online. The following solution includes steps to help with installing/reinstalling Quicktime and/or WM Player to use this feature..
How can I listen to U-verse voicemail messages online?
If the trouble continues, please shoot me a PM (blue envelope, top-right) as indicated in this thread with your contact information and we'll look into it.
Regards,
Alex

I just went to the link below to play my voice mail messages and it wouldn't play. It could be that there is some kind of maintenance being done on the site. Who knows. You can try this link if you haven't done so already.

Upon further investigation Windows Media Player has to be configured properly to hear the VMs online.

Do you have quick time player installed on your computer? One set of instructions say uninstall it from your computer and reinstall WMP. I have another laptop that I purchased Qucktime Pro and I can listen to voice mails online using it. Quicktime the free version of QT couldn't be configured to play the VMs.

I'm having a hard time understanding which part of this topic the "Group Leaders" are not getting.
In a nutshell so nobody has to strain themselves to go back and read:
Something has changed over the last few weeks on the VM site that has affected many users as is reflected by this topic and the conversations that people have had and the reps say they have had multiple inquiry's about it and no fix as reflected in message #23.
IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Windows, Mac - they are ALL displaying the same results.
Nobody - FOR WHAT EVER REASON - seems to be able to answer 1 basic question I have asked repeatedly - those of you that claim you can hear your VM (using quicktime I assume) , when you hit "save to computer", what web address is showing up? What? You can't save your VM's? Well then - we have a problem. My message - again - is "Firefox can't find the server at umcsfs.att.com"
Uninstalling QT or installing WMP is NOT the answer. There were not any issues until recently. Neither is cleaning the cache and cookies. No joy.
The QT player is NOT displaying any of the buttons that were there up until this issue. No play, stop, FF - nothing.
Error codes (Generated by AT&T mind you) of 205 and 500, as reflected by my uploaded picture in message #2, are showing up.
Dates and times in the logs have been off -10 hours at various times.
"It could be that there is some kind of maintenance being done on the site. Who knows." Gee - ya think? I'm certainly glad some light was shed there. Sorry to be abrasive but cookie cutter answers is not what is needed here.
Let's get this resolved folks. What else do you need from me? I am more than willing to do whatever it takes to assist.

I have to agree. This isn't helping. We've clearly met the burden of proof to show that this is an issue on AT&T's end. Making it our (computer's) fault isn't a solution. If I wanted that, I'd call in to phone support.

Interesting what the DNS records show. "Messagelabs.com" is somehow associated with our voicemail. I'm wondering if AT&T forgot to pay the bill to them.........

Dude - are you serious? I can't believe this reply. DID YOU NOT READ my entire post above outlining the issues? Why in the world are you suggesting that all of the browsers and OS's uninstall software? And you get paid by AT&T as support?
This type of response is why people get frustrated and find other providers.

There is clearly a systemic issue here. Please see this thread on DSL reports of additional people with the same problem:
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r26506372-Voicemai
I don't have U-Verse VOIP so I can't assist, but from the descriptions here in this thread as well as the DSLReports thread, there appears to be a DNS issue, which is AT&T's responsibility.

Hopefully Alex and the other forum "mentors" will take a second to read your post. {keep it courteous per Community Guidelines}
The part that is interesting is that none of them will answer where the web address I have provided MULTIPLE times resolves to for them when they try to save a message. Funny how that is overlooked.
{keep it courteous per Community Guidelines} Thanks again.

Alex has the ability to bring this to the attention of people at AT&T who can perform a proper investigation and determine what's wrong.
Not everyone has VOIP, myself included, so many people (perhaps Alex as well) cannot answer your question regarding the DNS name resolution.
On certain system-wide problems like this, it sometimes takes AT&T a while to fix the issue. We have seen this in the past with certain problems such as:
• At one point in time there was an inability to rewind or fast-forward recorded or buffered MLB games that were shown on the Fox Sports Net channels. We turned this over to the proper people at AT&T, but it took them 4-6 weeks to get it all fixed.
• Another time, there were garbled closed captions on all channels provided by Viacom to AT&T. It took one of our forum members a lot of effort and time (several weeks) to get AT&T to fix that as well.
I am sure this issue will get resolved satisfactorily, but it's not going to be tonight. Please give Alex as well as the other technical people at AT&T the time required to address the problem.

Well - we'll see if this meets the "guidelines" and "criteria" and avoids editing correcting. You can review the guidelines here
SomeJoe - I certainly appreciate your level head in responding. It is a far cry from the PM's I receive. My only point is this: this thread has been very clear and concise with details about what is going on and the main response from "others" is irrelevant. An analysis and recommendation to uninstall and reinstall is baseless and pointless given all of the information provided. An easy button response is what I would call it. We have been told that certain responders can listen to their VM but AGAIN nobody will be upfront with details other than QT pro blah blah blah. I'm seriously not asking for much here.
I'll crawl back under my rock and see what resolution occurs.
Hopefully I steered clear of pointing fingers, didn't step on any toes and my post falls within the guidelines.
Ya'll have a good day now - ya hear...........
