I know AT&T will e-mail me when I use so much bandwidth, but with the U-Verse televsion receiver being connected to the wireless gateway, does it use the 250 GB cap when I do any of the interactive things such as the U-Bar, or is that cap just for Internet?
It's just I watch movies often on Netflix and if my television is using that cap I may need to cut down. If it's just for internet I've averaged it out to 8 GBs a day to divide between my laptop and gaming systems.

I don't believe that any traffic to/from the receivers counts againts the internet usage. That being said, I don't think they are enforcing the cap for uverse customers yet.

First, although bandwidth caps are included in the Terms of Service Agreement (TOS), no caps are being enforced for U-verse internet. Second, the bandwidth caps mentioned in the TOS only apply to U-verse internet. U-verse TV and U-verse voice are not impacted.

Is there any word on when it may be enforced?

Wouldn't worry about it for right now, been over a year since they were put in place and still not enforced.

yup, and for more than a year the putzs have been hammering DSL customers with a cap that is 40% lower than the non-imposed cap Uverse customers have, the dirty rotten rat bast\ards. ![]()

The whole cap thing is nothing but another way for AT&T to hose the customer for more money, because it's not how much data you use in a month that causes congestion, it's how much everyone uses at any given point in time. In other words it's the speed of the connections that causes AT&T's network congestion. I say network because it's just AT&T's network that has a problem, not the Internet as AT&T claims.

That's because they want you to switch to UV HSI, even if it's not available in your area. ![]()
I think they'll have a hard time with this one since they push us to watch/use streaming/downloadable content from ATTs site! How do you draw the lines?

Time Warner is back at it again and they are going with even lower caps.

Well, that's good news. I just don't see how you can cap HSI today when so much of TV is on the Net!
