AT&T has salespeople in the Groveport OH area going door to door selling AT&T U-verse packages. These people really don't take no for an answer. There have been 2 guys walking around my neighborhood all week. Yesterday they knocked on my door and I listened to their entire sales pitch. After telling the first guy (most likely a trainee) twice that I was happy with the services I already had the second guy (the "Muscle) stepped in and proceeded to explain to me how this deal they were offering me was a no-brainer and I would be crazy if I passed it up. Sure they were offering me $250 back and said they would call my other services and take care of the disconnect for me, but how many times do I have to say that I don't have any issues with my current services and if I'm happy then there isn't any reason for me to switch to AT&T (6 times, that's how many). After the 6th time telling them I don't want their service, the "Muscle" turned away and said "well, we have other people to help. Really? No "thank you for your time", no "here's my name and number in case you're interested in the future"? At least when Time Warner came to my door a few months ago the guy was nicer and left his information in case I changed my mind, and told me to have a nice day to boot. These guys claimed that "26 of your neighbors saw this was a good idea and already switched to U-verse" and pointed to one of my neighbors across the street. Well, after they finally left I walked over to my neighbor they pointed at and asked him if he got U-verse, and he said "no, and after telling them 4 times I didn't want it I finally had to tell them to get the f*&$ off my porch". If this is the way AT&T trains their salespeople to sell, with extremely high-pressure sales tactics, then I have a message for you....STAY OUT OF GROVEPORT!!

These door to door salespeople do NOT work for ATT, they are outside contractors that do not have a very good reputation anywhere they are soliciting for Uverse. If they are pests, call the ploice and have them take care of the situation. ![]()

You can't just shut the door? I may have bought two items from door to salespeople in the last twenty years and both were from kids. If it's worth having, there are alternate ways of buying. D2D sales is not illegal but enough is enough, when dealing with high pressure.

Of course I could just close the door, but I don't know these people. I don't know if they would come back and muck with my car or property. Hearing on the boards that these people don't work for AT&T just makes me more cautious in how I talk to these people. If they came back and did something to my property there's no way I would be able to prove it was them, or be able to find these people. I normally don't buy things from d2d salespeople either, unless it's a neighborhood kid selling something for a fundraiser. You can't be too careful these days with some of these nutjobs out on the street.

I don't live far from Groveport and know this village/town well. As already mentioned these high-pressure D2D sales people are not AT&T employees and they're low-life subcontractors.
Read page 3 of the below link in regards to the "Peddler/Solicitation Permits" required for the Village of Groveport.
http://www.groveport.org/sections/safety/faq.pdf
You can ask them if they have a permit but sounds like you've had enough grief. Even if they have a permit call the Groveport P.D., file a complaint which will remain anonymous, their permit will be revoked if they have one for harassment, and have them run out of town!
Good luck.
