I decided to try U-Verse because the price was going to be a significant amount less than my current provider. I was promised a 30 day free trial. Within 2 days of switching, I started having problems with the cable. Within a week, my land line stopped working. I cancelled the service after 10 days. When I cancelled the service, I was not told that I needed to leave my land line working in order to get it ported over to my previous provider, Cox. I called Cox to get the service with them turned back on and they told me they couldn't give me my phone number of 20 years, back to me because AT&T had already disconnected it. Within 1 hour of canceling the U-Verse, I called back to get the phone reconnected. I was assured that my phone would be turned back on that night. This was over 3 weeks ago. I still don't have my old phone number back, nor will they release it to Cox. I have called AT&T service department on EIGHT different days, and spoken to no less than 15 people in the US and abroad, and spent more than 12 hours with AT&T trying to get this resolved. I have been assured on more than one occasion that the situation was taken care of. I have never experienced such poor help. The icing on the cake was when I received a bill today for my 10 days of service for $275.00 - so much for a free 30 day trial.
