In short: I need to know how I can block somebody from connecting to my uverse internet with their laptop.
I have given this person the internet access code and I dont care if they use my internet, its just when I want to play games online with my PS3 and they are online using their computer, I experience terrible lag which makes it impossible to play games online. This person doesn't seem to care if they are eating up my bandwidth so I need to block them.
What I want to do is only block them from connecting when I need to. I need the ability to grant and deny them access to the network at will. For example: I want them to be able to use the internet whenver I am not home and Im at work. But, if they are online when I want to play a game, I need to be able to cut them off.
My uverse modem model number found on the front of the modem is: 3801HGV
Please, give me suggestions. I read somewhere about blocking a MAC address but I dont know where to go to do that nor do I know their "MAC address".

They know the password & have access.
When you want to block access you change the password to a different (unknown to them) password.
When you are done you change the password back to the one they know.

Again, you're asking for a solution that doesn't exist. The U-Verse RG does not support MAC address filtering.
You have several choices:
- Communicate and cooperate with the other individual.
- Revoke access for the other individual permanently by changing the wireless key.
- Install your own router in a DMZPlus configuration that supports MAC address filtering.

For future reference you can also call TS and have the password changed. I've done it a few times.

I dont call ATT for anything anymore. Online support is the ONLY way to go.
