I had Uverse internet at my home last year. I had to cancel it earlier this year. Account balance was paid in full. I decided to re-connect, but now they are saying that service is not available in my area. I've tried address search on the ATT website, online sales chat, and calling the 800 number.
Does Uverse pull service from areas? If so, I'll believe that service is no longer available and not pursue it any more.
Thanks.

Check your address & tel no here - http://www.att.com/u-verse/availability/index.jsp#
Try other nearby addresses. Do you have a VRAD nearby?
You can pursue it with alex - community mgr.

Thanks for the quick reply.
That website says that my address doesn't' have availability. I don't have a phone number for the address.
I have no idea what a VRAD is or how to look for it. All I know is that I had service available last year.
I have PM'd Alex. As a matter of fact, I think he's PM'ing me now.
Thanks.

Just an update: I've been contacted by a couple ATT reps and they are still looking into it. One stated that it could be 1 of 2 things. 1) After I disconnected, someone else connected and now there is no available slot (as another poster suggested). or 2) There was a policy change concerning the distance from the connection point. Last year, my house may have met the distance requirements, but a new policy may now exclude my house due to distance restrictions.
Funny side note: One of the reps who contacted me asked to confirm my address because he could not find it in their system. He asked if I remembered my account number. I gave him my account number and the system pulled up the address exactly as he had entered it. Nice.

When you cancelled DSL, it was coming from the Central Office, that is now discontinued.
All Uverse internet comes out of the VRADs in neighborhoods now, VDSL Uverse HSI for those w/in range for VDSL. Those at longer distances will get IPDSLAM ADSL 2/2+ internet from cards in the VRAD up to a certain distance.
20% are "not a heavy emphasis for investment," i.e. 5-10 million of AT&T's 50 million homes are screwed unless they have a decent cable alternative. (Yes, rounding means not necessarily equal to 100 %.)
