I called AT&T uverse dept. ( after disconnecting service ) inquiring about my etremely high final bill... I was told what the $1,350.00 was for, $450 was the charge I owed for service and the other $900 was for the unreturned equipment, we further talked, the representative said to turn in the equipment ( which I have tracking receipts for ) and pay the $450 which would clear my bill entirely. Did that happen?...NO!!!! I called to track with AT&T , they said my equipment went past their 90 day turn in policy and I still owed them $900.00 for the equipment!! I asked them to send back the equipment and I would pay the $900. Their reply was that they don't do that! Am I to pay for equipment they have in their possession? Although I have no use for the equipment had I known all this was to happen I would have kept the equipment ( the same equipment they refuse to send back ) and paid the $900. I refuse to pay for NOTHING!!!!
Now AT&T is ruining my credit and have used several credit collection agencies to do so. I tried to handle this corteously!
My only recourse is to call the better business bureau [Per Guidelines: Keep it Relevant and Appropriate].!!!!

Yes, the Terms of Service Agreement states that if the equipment is not returned within 90 days after the date you terminate service, the equipment charge will not be refunded. The following is included in section 6c of the Terms of Service Agreement:
Return of Equipment. Upon termination of the Services, for whatever reason, you must return the Equipment, undamaged, within twenty one (21) calendar days to AT&T. If the Equipment is not returned within twenty one (21) calendar days, or is returned damaged, you will be charged for the value of the Equipment. We may retain any advance payment or deposit, or portion thereof that previously had not been refunded, if you fail to return the Equipment within this time period. If the Equipment is returned within ninety (90) days of termination, any fees charged for the Equipment will be refunded (other than fees for damages). No refunds will be made for any Equipment returned more than ninety (90) days after termination.
You do not have a valid complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Also, if you do not have U-verse service, the equipment is of no use to you. It cannot be used for service with another provider.
By the way, why was the equipment not returned at the time service was canceled?
