Why does my ATT Forum ID have to be different than my ATT ID?

How stupid is this? Why can't I just use my UVerse account ID as my forum ID? Yet another stupid thing to have to remember! Really?

It's for security reasons. To log in to your uverse account most need to use their email address assigned during the account set up process. You surely wouldn't want your email address plastered all over the www. Could you imagine the amount of spam you would have to deal with?

Not that hard, check the box that says "remember me" and you don't have to worry about it. The other alternative is not sign up and post.
