My Lumia 900 Randomly Reboots when I insert my wired headphones

Just like the title says.  

I answered a call earlier today and I told the person to hold on a sec while I plug in my headphones and when I did the phoen reboot. 

Happened again this evening at the gym.  I inserted a different pair/brand of headphons into the 3.5 mm jack and my phone reboot again.

Has this happened to anyone else?  It's random because it doesn't happen every time but enough to be irritating.

If playing a song, try pausing the song b4 inserting/removing your headsets. I noticed it didn't reboot after that procedure. I also noticed it doesn't reboot when inserting/removing AUX audio cables (in car stereo) from your lumia.

That is extremely odd. There's no logical reason why your phone should reboot when you plug your headphones in outside of some weird electrical happens (like if water got in the jack or something).

Another thing that happened was when I made a call using my speaker phone, I wanted to multi-task and use my headphones and talk on the headset. As soon as I plugged the head phones in, the screen turned white and my phone rebooted. I guess you can only plug your headphones in when there is no audio related app or making a phone call running or the phone will reboot.

I have expereienced the exact same thing. It happened with both OEM phones and with a pair of Etymotic HF2

I believe one time it happened while I was playing music, and the other time while the music was paused.

When it happens, the phone shows the "critical low" battery logo, reboots, and then it's fine.

My suspicion is that when the headphones are being pulled out, the concats are shorted for enough time to cause the phne to act this way.

I'd love to know if Nokia is aware of this. It is quite annoying and speaks poorly of their product.

My phone does not restart when inserting wired headphones. I am using old Sony Headphones that I had for years but never used much. You should try contacting http://twitter.com/#!/nokiacareus @nokiacareus

Yes it happens for me too, whenever I try taking a call connecting my headsets it turns off for 2 to 3 minutes and then turns on by itself. I did call up to the AT&T customer care and they in turn connected me to Nokia support and I did explain the issues clearly and all they have to say is "it's a common issue and they cannot help me further". I did ask them to give it to me in writing or send me an email stating it was a common issue, but they did not agree for that. I wish I should have returned the phone within 30 days, and now I don't have the option but just to use the way it is. Actually I was using Iphone 4S and upgraded my secondary line to Nokia Lumia 900 and swapped the phones.  All I have to say is it’s a big mistake to migrate from iphone 4s to Nokia Lumia 900.
