Tilt 2 - 3G Turns off on Soft Reset [ Edited ]

I just got my Tilt 2 for about a week, and when I first started messing with it, I thought the 3G was on by default (but maybe not).  Now, whenever I do a soft reset, I have to turn the 3G (Data Connection) back on every time.  I'm doing this throught the Wireless Manager page.

I did a hard reset, but it still turns off when I do a soft reset.  Is this the normal behavior?

Yes, it turns off after a soft reset.  But you don't need to turn it on every time (or really ever for that matter).  If you open the browser or other task that requires data, the Data Connection will turn on automatically.  This also holds true if you manually slide the Data Connection to "off".  If you open the browser, it will automatically switch on.  At least, that is what is supposed to happen.

Thanks!  That was exactly the issue.  I just thought it would stay on all the time.

I've been having a similar problem but mine wont turn back on.  My data connection turns off when I am in an area of limited or no reception for an extended period of time (I work in a large building).  When I retun to a good coverage area, the data connection does not automaticaly return, even if I open a browser or try to send/receive an e-mail (yahoo or corporate).  No data works, which is very troublesome because while it is off push-data does not function, so I wind up missing many e-mails unless I manually go into the Comm manager and look to see if it is on or off.  The Data slider in Comm Manager is off.  I have to slide it back on.  Sometimes I have to slide it on-off-on to get it to work.  Sometimes I even have to restart the phone.  I've tried soft resets, as well as removing the SIM card and re-initiating it.  Any help?
