Unblocking/Unlocking HP iPaq Glisten

Hi, I recently bought the HP iPaq Glisten directly from HP website. I however live in Africa where we do not have AT& T.. Iam therefore not able to use the phone as it is locked to AT&T network only. Can someone kindly  help with the unlock code?

Same here with me! I have even contacted HP but I was reffered to AT&T. Let me know if you found help so I can also follow up with it.

At last AT& T emailed me the code. im now able to use the phone....however, I can not receive sms. have tried 4 different networks but still the same problem. looks like the AT&T settings are in the ROM. I lose internet settings every time i restart the phone too.

My HP Glisten is also locked. I have read the posts between yourself and Bupe re unlocking the HP Glisten, I live in Australia and bought mine off ebay and have contact HP who told me to contact AT&T. There is no AT&T mobile service in AUS and I have been unsuccessful in contacting AT&T in the US so phone is useless at the moment as it is still locked, can you help as it sounds like you have successfully unlocked you HP.

Hi,

Yes, we managed to unlock thorugh AT&T.

I phoned them and they got my details, emailed me the code after a couple of days.

The code is not readily available in their database, so they might say they are not able to help....depends on the person helping you; insist that they log a call so that they can generate the unlock code for you.

Thanks, have found it difficult to contact AT&T. I will keep trying.

As the phone is locked I can only use for music etc, however the backlights on the keyboard dont light up so also very difficult to use in the dark or low light, any ideas how to get the back lights on the keys to function.

What did you say to customer service in order to get the unlock code.  I recently tried with two different CS Reps and they both told me that the phone was too new to unlock and they couldn't generate a code.  I will be moving to Europe in the next month and want to get my phone unlocked.

THIS IS OLAZER - I CREATED THIS TOPIC SO I CAN GET HELP ON THE IPAQ GLISTEN UNLOCK CODE AND I DID FIND HELP.

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS CALL AT&T CUSTOMER CARE ON +1 800 331 0500 AND TELL THEM YOU WANT TO UNLOCK YOUR HP iPAQ GLISTEN.  don't call hp, they will never give you the code!

AT&T WILL TELL YOU THE CODE CAN NOT BE FOUND ON THE SYSTEM BUT DONT WORRY, THEY WILL STILL GET IT FOR YOU. THEY WILL ASK YOU SOME ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WHICH INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL...SO JUST GIVE THEM ALL THE INFO (E.G NAME, ADDRESS, EMAIL E.T.C) AND AFTER 3 - 5 WORKING DAYS...THEY WILL SEND YOUR CODE TO YOUR EMAIL.

I DID THIS AND IT WORKED...SO YOU CAN TRY THE SAME THING!

DONT BUY THIS USLESS PIECE OF CRAP.
AT&T ignore me, send a email with standard blabla. I am a german and live in germany and have buyed this GLISTEN on vacation.
On the package is nothing noted about a locked phone. But you have to notice at your coffee that it could be hot. Hey people how crazy are you ?

HP and AT&T is not able to take care of their customers.
It is enough I will never ever buy a HP Product. My new printer will be a Epson, my new Mobile Pocket PC a HTC or Apple an my new Laptop a ASUS.
But never ever again a HP Product.
I still have used nearly all Ipaq's Hp decided to sell. But from now on not any more.

hi, do you have a easy way or code to unlock the ipaq glisten? I called AT&T they say its not in there database, then i called hp and they wont bother giving it as well. If it works , i will give you a few dollars, i really like this phone and would love to unlock it. Any info would be appriciated.
