I've been using Windows Live and att.net for a few months.
I have Windows 7 and Windows Live.
Literally overnight, I'm getting this message. I DID NOT change my password. Something changed and it wasn't me.
Unable to send or receive messages for the Att (julielidberg) account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.
Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR [AUTH] Incorrect username or password.
Server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes
Can anyone help? Does ATT support monitor this community to help????

Got a similar error. I can send emails from Windows Live but can't receive them since 6/22/12.
First tried on-line support and that of course did not work--not surprising.
Then I called tech support. The guy I spoke with acknowledged there is a problem with Microsoft's Windows Live program and ATT server, but he could not give specifics. He offered paid support and was glad to transfer. Looks like they are trying every which way to make money and the fix is probably something not complicated.
What the free ATT tech guy had to offer was changing the POP3 and SMTP as well as using inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net. I changed the POP3 to 995 and SMTP to 465 with SSL checked off for both. Still I could not receive emails in the Windows Live program.
ATT claims it is a Microsoft issue. However, maybe ATT is blocking the use of this program somehow.
Still searching for a solution, but thought I would post a reply as this is apparenly a problem ATT is aware of.

I've had the same problem for a couple weeks now. By coincedence the email problems started at exactly the same time that ATT made large-scale changes to their home-page. I've tried everything possible including checking all settings, talking to an att agent, uninstalling and reinstalling windows live mail 3 times, tried other email cliet programs like Thunderbird and Opera. I'm convinced that this is an effort by ATT to sell their pc troubleshooting service. I'm so angry that I'm gonna change internet providers.
