Yeah actually lets due. Comparing one dysfunctional and lazy carrier to another isn't doing anyone any favors. The software updates are out there and there is no reason we have not received them. Other providers (us cellular, tmobile, etc) have done their job and delivered the security and bug fix release to its customers. They also aren't lying to its customers regarding the existence of the updates.

Actually I have to connect to exchange system where when I reply my messages get truncated. Thus has been fixed since October and this worthless carrier has yet to make an update available.

Only telephones are free with a contract. And customers are aware that's all they're getting. We're complaining because this update is a FIX for functions we paid extra to have beyond the ability to make a call.

Very interesting thanks for posting. It just goes to show we are dealing with the Singular wireless stupid mentality&T should have never sold their good name to these clowns.
I am so sorry I choose AT&T for my wireless.

That is very relevant and appropriate. ATT has been incompetent at least or flat out lying to its customers about existance of available updates and fixes. These are important updates that fix legitimate privacy and functionality deficiencies. The complaint is a valid and appropriate step since the company treats it's customers in an unfair and unethical way exposing them to security problems as well as broken functionality with respect to Exchange 2003 reply problem or the disappearing keyboard issue.

Just a quick reminder that the information posted about is not in any way supported by AT&T and we cannot provide any assistance should you have an issue with your device as a result of that information.
I understand that you're eager to receive your update and waiting is frustrating but I want to stress that AT&T neither supports nor recommends this action.
I've got to +1 this. I've done forced update before and found that it can prevent your phone from getting automatic updates in the future. Getting the phone "repaired" was pain because I had to remember exactly what I had done to it 9 months prior to get it back in that state so that it could get updates.

I contacted AT&T support via email. And this is the email response I got
"My name is Josh and I am more than happy to assist you today with your inquiry regarding the software update for the HTC Titan.
I apologize for any frustration this has caused. After reviewing your question, if there is an update for the software issue you described, we have not been informed of the update available. If there is one released it has to be approved by AT&T to make sure that it functions correctly on our network. I apologize but there has not been an ETA on when the software update will be released. I apologize for any inconveniences. If one is available in the future you will be notified of the release via text on your phone."
if AT&T can publish all iOS updates on day one, why can't it do the same for Windows Phones?

I don't think we're getting an update until AT&T has had the opportunity to force us into a new Windows Phone (HTC Titan 2 & Nokia 900 out within a month). I just can't see AT&T making us all love our WP's again just a few weeks or less before offering new WP models. That being said, I'm sure a month or so after we've given up and bought a new phone with the update pre-installed (if we don't bail on AT&T or WP altogether for being treated this way), it will be released to our current phones we gave up on. I just really hope that Microsoft, in their deafening silence regarding this, knows their customers are frustrated and are able to deliver updates directly to us in the future (better hope we're still here AT&T & MS!!!).

I just submitted a complaint to FCC. If all of us do the same may be FCC can take a stand on the issue of Software updates. (Not only WP7, but AT&T has similar issues In Android area too).

Hey all...
I haven't seen any new information about this update yet. I know that's not the news you'd like to hear but I wanted to let you know that I am still reading this thread and trying to get information about the 8107 update.
I really appreciate your patience and I promise that as soon as I have something to share with you, I will.

I just got a call from Darren from the office of the vice president AT&T wireless a title no doubt designed to intimidate the lowly user he is the same guy who worked on my Blackberry problem any way he has no knowledge of the update and if there is a update it would be in the hands of the team who handles it and he does not know where the team is and has no way to contact them . They must be in the cloud... And they call this customer support?? We will see that the FCC does .
This company should be ashamed

Interesting fact:
With Samsung Windows Phones, if you debrand your phone (google it - very easy to do from what I've read) then sync your phone you will be updated to 8107.
To me this implies that not only does AT&T know of the updates, they are actively blocking them.
I haven't done the de-brand yet myself, but I can't see waiting much longer. If AT&T doesn't care enough about its customers to make sure they have te latest and greatest....

=====

Yeah. 1 Android update (2.2) in 18 months. I finally got tired of waiting and put ICS on my Galaxy S. Yes, the ICS that Samsung said wouldnt work on their phone and thereore they weren't going to pursue it. AT&T released 2.3 (or so I hear) after I had 4.0.3 working on my phone. And you know what the real kicker is? 4.0.3 runs SOOOO much better than the crap that Samsung and AT&T feed us.
It's all crapola. Samsung lies. AT&T lies. They seem to only want to sell new hardware and lock you down for another 2 years. Have the forgotten that we pay $60+ a month for the service? Shouldn't that be top priority?
I'd love to switch to Mango (or better), but the lack of VVM and that AT&T won't keep my phone patched, I'll probably stick with my ICS Galaxy S. I'd love to bolt to a new phone company, but they all suck.

I too submitted a complaint to FTC. I don't see any of them hurting AT&T or forcing them to do the right thing, but I am at least getting a satisfaction of "I tried everything I could".
