This is more of an administrative question. In most bulletin boards/forums one can click on a icon in the index listing that jumps to the first UNREAD message. Is that choice available here somehow so I don't need to start at the beginning and wade through all the messages I have already seen in order to find messages that are new?
Thank you!

Hello Dan in Saint Louis,
If you want to jump to the first unread message in a topic or thread, click on 'My Settings' at the top right of any forum page.
- My Settings > Preferences > Linear Layout.
- Place a check mark in 'Jump to first unread post in a topic'.
- Click Save.
Remember to always mark posts that resolved your issue with Accept as Solution. You can even mark multiple posts in a single thread.
This will help other users find this information too!
Use the Kudos Button to offer a thumbs-up for good content and a pat on the back to its author.

I enabled "jump to first unread" as you diagrammed, and clicked "Save," but when I go back to an old topic I am still shown the first message.
I even tried closing my Web browser first and returning to these forums after re-opening, but no cigar,

In the topic you went back to, were all the posts previously read by you?
If all messages in a topic have been read, the default action will be to return to the first message.
The 'jump' action will only come into play when there is a new unread message.

Hmm, I guess I cannot test that until a new message shows up in a thread.
I'm used to other forums where, if there is no new message, the last message is shown as a reminder where the thread left off.
I'll keep watching, thanks.

You can click on the date to the right of the screen for the time of the last posting and it will take you to the end of the thread.
