Changing phones affects on existing contract

I currently have an iphone 3g and contract doesn't expire for a year. I would like to get a gophone to save some money. Can I switch within my existing contract? Thanks.

What do you mean, exactly? If you are asking if you can switch devices, the answer is yes. I'll assume that you want to get a GoPhone that doesn't require a data plan, so that you could drop the data plan from your current monthly bill. If so, this is possible.
If you are trying to leave your postpaid plan and switch to a prepaid plan, then you would incur the early termination fee on your contract.
