Is there any way to get ATT to not require a deposit for me? I want to open new phone service with 4S I phones. ATT wants $500 deposit/phone. I have been an ATT customer for over 20 years. I have mortgage paid off and no car loan. I pay my credit cards (2) off each month. I have a fraud alert on my credit to keep my credit safe. . . ATT is supposed to call my home number to confirm that I want this new line of credit. (this is my ATT phone number). They have not called my home number to confirm my order as instructed on my credit report. I have excellent credit because if have the fraud alert on my credit report to prevent identity theft. (12 years ago I was robbed and my identity was stolen). When I talk with ATT, they state the deposit requirement will stay on my account for 90 days. Any tips or advice so that I don't have to pay $500 deposit/phone?
I have a copy of my credit report that shows no problems and a copy of my credit score which is high (760-850). The only reason I think I would require deposit is the fraud alert on my report - but there are clear instructions that state they need to call my home # to confirm my order.

Unfortunately, we cannot waive deposits if they are required.
