- Deal with your phone getting cut off.
- Someone (your brother) pay the bill in full no matter what, then deal with collecting payment from everyone.
- Get your own account.
Whoever's name is on the account, that person is ultimately responsible for the bill and will ultimately have his credit rating messed up. So if you can't get your own account, then I'd recommend that you remind your brother that ultimately he will be the one to deal with the collection agency and a messed up credit report in the future. (I'm thinking of the free credit report commercial where they guy doesn't know the GF had bad credit, so they can't find a place to live so end up in the parent's basement.) No matter what happens with the non-paying friend, your brother should be doing recommendation 2 anyway. Isn't he tired of having his phone shut off, too? ![]()

Yes, you can.

My brother is currently in army basic training (which is why his friend thinks he can pull one over on us) but gave me all the information to his account like ss number and passwords. Since he gave me this info can I make the decisions on what to do with the account?
