I have an iPhone that I use only for calling or texting my husband and for data. It is not used in any other capacity and is not given out to anyone or other wise disseminated. How then when I do a search on my "unlisted" number on one of the reverse lookup sites it comes up with my name? only me, my husband, and AT&T had it. I can only conclude that AT&T lost or sold my info. Anything I can do to make this non-published number really unlisted?
Not sure on cell phones, but on normal landlines unless you pay additional for having your landl line phone number unlisted is it automaticly listed which puts it out on the public domain search engines. Would hazard a guess that cell phone numbers work the same way - you don;t pay for unlisted feature the number is automaticly put out there. It also appears that if you do not request the carrier to make your number unlisted and unpublished at the time of getting it the number and information is PD
It also appeas that If you want to change an existing phone number that was listed or publishable, then call the carrier service provider. Confirm with them that it's your account, then request that your phone number is made "Unpublishable" and "Unlisted."
