Okay so like it says above I need to cancel my contract. The people I have talked to on phone aren't any help and wont tell me what my early termination fee is. Not to mention my service is so crappy that I can't even make a call without it being disconnected (dropped calls) or even send successful texts. I plan on switching to Verizon for the also lower prices. Can anyone give me advice because I need out of this contract ASAP. Apparently no one at AT&T will take me serious or give me the info I need. ![]()

If you got the phone after 06/01/2010
Smartphone - 325.00 - (10.00 * number of full months of service commitment completed)
Dumbphone - 150.00 - (04.00 * number of full months of service commitment completed)
For a smartphone that you have had for 3 full months of service commitment completed the ETF would be 295.00 + non-prorated final bill
For a dumbphone that you have had for 3 full months of service commitment completed the ETF woulf be 138.00 + non-prorated final bill
If you got the phone prior to 06/01/2010
Any phone - 175.00 - (5.00 * number of full months of service commitment completed)

I would like to request a disconnect. I've tried disconnecting 3 times in the last month and a half and there seems to be a strict policy at AT&T where the customer cannot disconnect their service UNLESS YOU PAY an early termination fee of $265. I have experienced dropped calls since I switched to AT&T and have a loooooong sheet recorded of the times I have called AT&T and the steps we took to "resolve" the situation. As far as this contract is concerned, it should be nulled and voided due to the inability to deliver the services that have been paid for and promised. Please disconnect my service immediately, without a termination fee.
Thank you,
Jason {personal content removed for safety}

If I were in your situation, I would try canceling your service in-store. I think it would be easier that way for you. The employees/manager there should be able to access everything that is needed to terminate your service, and then you can port your number over to Verizon.
I think if you disconnect your service before you port the number there will be a problem, they need to go to their new carrier and have them do the port, when att gets the port request the account will be shutdown and a final non-prorate bill and etf will be sent on the next billing cycle

unfortunately it does not work that way, you will have to etf out to get out of the contract, there are specific clauses in the terms of service that address the issue that you have.

I just changed mine to someone else. They sent a final bill. I sent them a check for less than the full amount. I expected another bill with interest. Its been less thn 30 days. I talked with their collection agent yesterday.
Have fun when you cancel.
I left them for several reasons-
Harvard monkey management- they don't care and neither do the underlings working for them (vist a store and see if anyone not doing anything talks to you (usually they have their own conversation going..). Bueracracy...
Trying to determine what my cost is going to be was a wild guess in the first place and customer service they have can't provide any of it. I thought about expanding to family unlimited vs. changing carriers to try to save a buck or two and it was pointless to even try to get a number with them.
I'm glad I left- less than 30 days to collections or not....
Bye

Contract and complain to them FTC..Does AT&T even have custormer support training? I don't think soooo. I have a family plan with I can't terminate the contract. I have 2 months on one phone and 1yr on the other. I have unlimited mobile to mobile, unlimited n/w.. I'm going to try and break the record on using the most minutes. I have unlimited mobile to mobile,
I'll use my phone to call my wife's phone and just let it sit connected hours on end. My goal is for 2500 minutes in a week......Ok don't break by contract let them do the calculations.

your solutions is to use 2500 m2any mobile free min as way to get back at at&t? sounds like you dont like the person your going to call remember even if YOU use 10,000 min m2any mobile its free for you but not free for the other person just make sure they are at&t or you will cause them heart ache vs at&t

Makes a lot of sense you tie up two phone lines just for a precieved form of revenge - guess you don;t make many phone calls to other devices. I think there is some kind of logic here, but nit sure where. By the way there is a acceptable use policy you might want to review.
