Anybody... I am frustrated. I just completed a 2 month period talking with AT&T about continuing my data contract that I have had for years. All communications were good until today. So.. Allow you to hear my frustrations. I just completed a complaint at Consumer Affairs, looking for further action next.
First, I called AT&T to make sure I could stay with my data contract when I upgraded my Tilt 2 to a Samsung Flash Focus. (This was in December). The challenges started, with what I must say, included a lot of help from AT&T to correct. First, the contract did not follow as promised. Following a few calls, I got a supervisor who filled out a form to get the contract re-instated. A few days later, I received a call stating that I was indeed on the former contract. I did not need tethering for a while. When I tried a couple weeks later, tethering did not work. I then spent several calls with AT&T tech people trying to figure out why. Tech guys agreed that I should be able to tether. Still nothing. Then a couple weeks ago, when talking to the normal first level person at the AT&T side, I was told that the Samsung does not Tether. I was at an AT&T meeting and was told that it does tether (yes, I am an AT&T Business partner). I called AT&T yesterday and talked to great young lady. She brought on the line a specialist that knew what each phone was capable of. The specialist told me that two of the windows phones do not actually tether, one being the Samsung Flash. With great apologies, the AT&T team overnighted me a new HTC phone that does tether. I receive it today. I wandered around the office letting people know what great support I had from AT&T. After setting up the phone,. I called AT&T to get the contract re-instated again. I was told that there was no way I was getting anything other than a new "limited" tether contract. I asked if the rep could at least look at my file (which has been referred to by everyone I talked with this past two months). She said quickly that there was nothing there that said I could have a contract that does not exist. Now I agree, that from the marketing side, there is no such current contract. I informed her that I had a new phone solely so I could get back on the contract. I was told that I was wrong - and that the Samsung flash did tether - and basically I did not know what I was talking about. It was an unfriendly call because I asked to talk to a supervisor. I did not get one. The call ended up with her telling me goodbye.

My question - sorry I needed to unwind - is ... Does the right hand know what the left hand is doing at AT&T?
