double check, heck triple check your account before it's too late

I upgraded the phones on my account because i have always been happy with at&t's service and i was super long over due. my friends where even making fun of my antique "dumb" phone. I choose to go through amazon because they offered a better price for the htc one x. boy oh boy am i paying for it the hard way. i called at&t upon getting my phone to make sure my plan was set up right. of course it wasn't. the customer service person at at&t i spoke to set everything right like i had ordered from amazon EXCEPT the insurance. i got my first huge bill and ASSUMED everything was in there but i didn't double check. now i am the bafoon with a lost phone and no insurance. the best part. a new phone is almost $600! its going to take months for me to save up that kind of scratch.

I am not understanding the issue.  ATT screwed up somewhere or Amazon did?  Why do you have to pay $600 for a phone?

I'm sorry i should have made it more clear about how awful of an experiance i had from amazon. I didn't even mention how the first two phones where defective. the post is about how amazon didn't communicate to at&t all the details of my order and account changes. also as i warning to double check everything. i loved the phone and really would like to own it again but it's just outside my means for the time being.

If I were you I would contact amazon directly in regards to your issue. I shop with amazon and had three issues during the the christmas holiday and they resolved all my issues including a refund and also still sending the product out to me.

Except the OP lost his/her phone....not much Amazon can do with that.

The phone insurance is a ripoff. You'd still be liable for a deductible between $100 & $200 to replace your phone. You're better off seeing if your renter's or homeowner's insurance carries an electronics rider.
