HTC Inspire 4G 2.1.... no update?

I got this phone 2 weeks ago, and have never been able to update it. It always says "server unavailable"

Tonight it froze up trying to delete a text message (seriously) and I had to factory it. While googling around on what the problem could have been I read that gingerbread was released for Inspire. AT&T never told me it was out, and I have no idea how to update my phone.
