Hello AT&T,
Please allow the One X's bootloader to be unlocked. HTC as already made it known that they have no problem with it so that just leaves your company standing in the way. Believe me when I tell you, not unlocking this will be far worse for the company then whatever your original reason for keeping it locked would.
Thank you,
Ryan

Agreed. All you are doing is making enemies of your users and customers. HTC even states that the warranty of any phone unlocked through their site has the potential to be void if you choose to unlock. Simply referring to their list of users/phones would keep you from having to replace faulty hardware due to negligence.
It's irresponsible and unfortunate that you have decided that it's in our best interest that you decide how we use OUR phones, but there is still time. Allow us to use our devices how we want. We bought them. Give us that freedom at least.
I've signed the petition against this and filed a claim with the BBB. It's time that we are allowed to do what we want with the things we paid for. Trust me, I'm not going to be the last, and it won't end. More and more people are becoming aware. Good luck

If you paid full retail for it you have an arguement with your " we are allowed to do what we want with the things we paid for", if you paid subsidized you don;t

And if there were no ETF. you would have an arguement also. AT&T is going to get their money for the phone due to the contract, either thru the completion of the contract or a combination of payments plus the etf. So basically, once you sign the contract, you own the phone. AT&T is not going to take the phone back, you will owe the money. The phone is yours forever. This is why if you drop and break the phone, you still have to pay for it.

If you paid full retail price for the phone and made sure you did not accidently get a contract plan there is no etf. If you are not under a contract by paying full retail for the phone, the phone is returnable up to 30 days from purchase, the only time the 14 day trigger is in effect is if you purchase a subsidized phone. ATT will gladly do a month to month service plan if you paid full retail price, so will sprint and verizon.
Been out of contract for years, but I replace my phone just like I replace my home theatre equipment - every 15 months

All said which has nothing to do with the point I made. Nice try though. LOL.
