Is a DATA PLAN required on all PDA cell phones?

I thought it was only required for the iPhone?

If you get a TILT you have WIFI, so the Data Plan is more of an option, correct?
I was just at a store and the sales guy and his manager told me all PDA phones (TILT, Blackjack, Blackberry, etc) require a Data Plan.

Is that true?

No, they don't require a Data Plan, but sometimes it's a contingency for the mail-in rebate that you have a data plan.

No, they don't require a Data Plan, but sometimes it's a contingency for the mail-in rebate that you have a data plan.

...But once you get the rebate in hand, you can cancel the data plan.

I spoke with AT&T on the phone last night - the only phones requiring a data plan is the iPhone and the Blackberry Curve 8310.

Hmmm...I didn't know that the 8310 had a data plan requirement.

Just remember a data plan or the unlimited messaging plan is usually a requirement to qualify for a rebate. If you do not have those on your phone when they process the rebate, you may not qualify for the rebate.
