LG VU Anyone having battery life problems?

I have had the Vu for 2 weeks now.  The battery life does not last half a day.  I have reduced the 3G to 2G and have dimmed the brightness.  I called ATT and they suggested turning it in for a new one.  SAME PROBLEM!  Is this all one can expect of the phone?  I'm getting ready to turn it in for an entirely different phone.  I am not a big talker or texter.  But the battery is unacceptable.  Does anyone have the same problem or a suggestion.

i have had my lg vu for about 3 weeks....had the same battery problems.....battery wouldnt last very long....two days ago i let

it charge all day and finally it told me the "charge was complete"  i havent had any problems with it after that....i just talked on it for

about 2 hours and still have 3 bars left on my battery life.

Thanks for the suggestion.  However, I gave up on the Vu and I swapped it for a Blackjack II.  I hope I have better luck with this one.  It is supposed to have 7 hours talk time so it should be improved.  You seem to have better luck than I did.

Yeah. I have the same problem. They told me to turn off the bluetooth when I am not using it, and also that music and Media Net kills battery life. But I hardly use my bluetooth, and its hardly ever turned on, and my battery life still sucks! Even when I charge it all night or all day! I

I've had the LG VU (CU915, not the 920) for a couple months now & yes the battery life just plain sucks.

I text quiet a bit on mine/non stop depending on the day. & i go on the internet frequently as well. I rarely talk on it though, if i do its only one or two 1-4 minute conversations a day & i almost never have my bluetooth on & the brightness is turned down as far as i can turn it.

I charge my phone over night & it lasts the full day, but sometimes it will start dying near the end of the night on me.

If i haven't used it a lot that day, it will last a little bit into the next day.

So yes the battery life isn't that great, but i think you guys are experiencing an actual problem, or maybe the CU920 just uses that much more battery life.

Hey, everyone, I finally figured out what the problem was.  Unfortunately only after I had gone through 2 Vu's, and 2 Blackjack batteries.  It was my SD card!  As soon as I took the SD card out everything was fine.  I doubt I'll go back to the Vu now, too much trouble changing phones yet a 4th time.  Too bad. But at least I've got it figured out.

My battery is doing great.  It is always in 3G mode.  I can go all day easy.  The major drainage happens when I start useing my MP3 player. Sometimes problem is not battery. Something could be wrong internally with phone will cause battery to be sucked dry.

I have had my LG VU since May 2009 and in the past week I experience a low battery within 30 minutes of a phone call. I will charge it for 20 minutes and it will say Charge complete and then I go back to my phone call and its low again within minutes. Is it just time to replace the battery after less than one year of use?

I had the same battery problem with both my LG VU phones within 15 days of the each other.  I called up AT&T and they sent a replacement battery after going through a series of questions. Less than a year of use on both phones. I think it is a problem with the battery that they dont want to admit to.

After battery was replaced both phones are fine.

I had an unrelated problem with one of the phones which is being checked out. It is a problem with the touch screen. It senses touch at a location where I am not pressing.

I got my daughter this phone, also in May, and had to do a warranty exchange of the battery in December. It started doing exactly what you describe. She hasn't had a problem with it since then.

lg doesnt like to admit to anything,i had the same problems AND MANY MORE.there customer service is a rough ride to say the least,but if you feel you would lie to purchase another lg product,they would be more then happy to speak with you.i have a new lg vu batterry i would give away,the rest of the phone went to the garbage.

Hello. I am having the same problem with my phone after having for a year.  Do you still have the battery that you are giving away if not, where did you purchase your battery. This phone is making me very frustrated I charge it every night. I rarely use the internet on it and when I get ready to make a call I talk 15 minutes and the phone is down to 0 cells on the battery.

When I had my VU my battery would deplete faster over time. It lasts talktime up to 3 hours. =(

I don't have my LG any longer.  I went through 3 phones and then got a Blackjack II.  But I found out what the problem was.  I went through 2 Blackjacks and then found out I had a bad smart card (I had put in both phones) that was burning up the batteries.  By the time I figured it out I was tired of bringing phones back and forth.  I kept the Blackjack.  No battery problems. But none of the phone techies figured it out.  I did.

i've had my VU since december '09 and ever since then my experience from this phone makes me want to shoot myself in the balls. ive had three of them all of them the same; HORRIBLE ! first the battery life sucks; i can charge it all night and whenever i get a call within 15 seconds of answering it goes from all my bars to none and just the other day i hit the answer button and as soon as i hit it the phone cut off. no shut down or anything it just cut straight off. next the plastic cover that goes over the charger port the plastic piece fell off within a week of me getting the one i currently have and now i have water inside the touch screen so it chooses whatever letter it wants when im texting . and finally it doesnt shut down anymore it just cuts off ; the battery life is freakin terrible it can go about an hour of just texting before it does the cut off BS .

 i cant wait until i can upgrade or leave at&t , if you can upgrade to the iphone 4 for free can you upgrade to the LG vu plus ?

the only reason your batteries are dying is cuz the phone is probably glued to the side of your head all day.

i have the same phone as the rest of you and NEVER have problems with battery life.

grammarnazi,  I have the same phone as well and do not experience any of these problems, however my husband also owns one and has the same problems as the rest of these people.

I've had my LG Vu for about a year.  I had the same problem.  I tried charging my phone with AC outlet charger, car charger and the USB charger.  My phone would say the charge was complete after being charged for 5 to 30 minutes when it was not actually charged at all.  I bought a cradle charger with a slot for charging a spare battery.  My batteries work fine when I charge them in the spare slot.  The problem seems to be when charging the battery while it is in my phone. I have bought a couple new batteries since this problem occurred which did the same thing when I charged them in my phone.   All of my batteries are great now that I use this method (charging the battery by itself) for charging the batteries.  Even my year old batteries hold a charge now.  I hope this helps.

I had same thing on the LG VU phones my family is using.  it shows fully charged, but, after couple minutes of talking, it shut down by itself, and could not turn back on again.  I called customer service, and after a series of Q&A, a replacement battery was mailed,  but, the problem is still there. 

I did try taking out micro SD.  It did not do any better.  So, I am using old phone now.

Ohkay I got my LG VU almost a year ago in for valentines day from my mom.

it had a very bad battery life from the beginning, itd charge completley, then id take it off the charger and after one text message, and im not exaggerating 1 text message, itd die.

My sister as well had the VU same problem.

we called at&t and they sent us a 2 new one, 2 weeks later same problem. finally it stopped working in general, well recently i bought a new charger for it to see if it would work again, and it does, but same problem still, i send like a few texts and it goes from 3 bars to 1.

now i let it die, charge it, and it charges for 10 mins if that, nd it says full battery, then 2 mins later it dies, or if i get lucky and it makes it through a few texts, as soon as I get a call it dies, no matter what, it can have full battery fresh off the charger, i get or make a call and it dies.

What should I do?

Did you ever consider getting a battery replacement along with the charger? Maybe it could be a bad battery. But considering it's a widespread issue, then I'm not completely sure a new battery would help any. I'm happy I didn't get this phone a year-and-a-half ago - I probably would have have the same problems.

Where did you get a cradle charger?  I've had my phone for about a year and not the battery won't last for 5 minutes.  I got a new battery 3 days ago and now it's doing the same thing.  It must not really be charging in the phone...
