LG VU touchscreen problem- oily substance visible??

I've had my VU since the end of April. I baby this phone and am very careful with it. About two weeks ago, in a certain kind of lighting, I noticed something different about my screen, the entire screen was covered with the lcd oily type substance, a rainbow of colors. Now, when I try to text or touch somewhere, if I am not very precise and pinpoint, the touch will register on the opposite side. Any ideas of what I should/could do? I have no idea what happened to it. Thanks.

i had that for awhile then the screen froze,wait till you have to contact LG service,put your seat belt on it may be a rough ride.it was a decent phone for the 5 moths it lasted ,but with the amount of other brands out there to choose from better service and quality i would certainly look around for your next purchase.

I have the same problem. Did you get it fixed. It happened all by itself. One day it was fine and the next day it was in the condition you describe. I had not done anything with it to change it. Did not drop/expose to heat/ nothing.

Please reply if you were able to get it fixed.

I would contact Customer Service and see what they can do for you...  Make sure you stress that you have taken care of the phone and that's not abuse.  I've always had good luck with them in the past.  I know of one user on this thread who had a less than desireable response from support and I have already apologized for that but I'm thinking they will take care of you.  Here's the number and I'd like to know if your problem was resolved or not.  (800) 793-8896

i wonder who that user is?just so you know..because WE WERE NOT informed ,that they will look at it first ,then they will notify you how much you will be charged and IF you will even be charged before billing you.we were led to believe from the customer rep on the phone without even seeing the phone, that it would more then likely cost us around $100 to fix it.so after we weighed the options of getting another 5 months or so for another $100 or buying a new one,we tossed it,complained to at&t for awhile only to find out from them that she never explained that we WOULD BE notified before fixing it and even if there was a charge at all the lady on the phone certainly has no say in it. so my experience with customer service would be considered less then great as you may imagine. im just giving my version of lg customer service..i dont work for them,i would not hesitate to call them,but you may want to call your provider first .mine seemed to be more of a help ,though be it a little late .if you do call ,get all the names you speak with and what they say,and you might talk to more then one of them. good luck..

phone is still under warranty.  took it to the local Device Service Center and they replaced the phone.  process was easier than buying the phone!

I contacted Customer service. The nearest Device Service Center is more than an hour away and not in any direction that I usually travel. They are sending me a mailer to send the phone back to them. Let us see how this goes.

the service center you brought it to? is that an at&t service center?. I certainly wish LG would have givien us that option,i should have just tried to return it istead of listening to the lady on the phone from LG customer support. thats great that you got it squared away.

it was an at&t center.  you can find info by accessing your wireless account online.

thats what i thought,we ewre told by a few to call lg,we were told they had a great customer service department.good thing i didnt buy any ocean front property from him,LOL

its even harder to swalow because the at&t store is only 2 miles away.
