Hello everyone. This is my second Xenon in the past week. The first one I had for about 30 minutes when I realized it was not working properly. The guys at the store said they accidently put that phone back on the floor after someone already returned it becasue it had problems. Anyways the one I have right now is not letting me add favorite contacts. When I go into my address book and click on the star to add favorites nothing happens. I don't want to bring it back becasue i'm afraid something worse is going to happen with another one that I would get. Any one else having this problem? I really like the phone, just wished it worked like its suppose too.
Sonds like a software issue that you are having. Try a hard reset, and if that does not work, do a warranty exchange.

In order to assign pictures and or ring tones to Favorites the contacts must be on the Phone no just the SIM. All Favorites refer to the Phone and not the SIM card for their information. Make sure your device is set to read from the phone as follows:
1) Press the Contacts icon (second from left at bottom of idle screen, looks like a little Rolodex).
2) Press the Options icon located at the top right corner of the screen. (looks like a square with lines in it).
3) Select "View Settings".
4) Select Phone Only - make sure there is a check mark next to this option.
NOTE: If you select "Phone & SIM Card" option you will probably see duplicate contacts displayed on your phone since the phone is now reading from the phone and SIM card!

ok, I've been having a problem with my LG Xenon. I am on my second one. The first one I returned in only 2 days. The problem with the first one is very similar to that of my current Xenon.
First phone:
when a text was received, I would open it to use the keyboard, but the screen would not flip to the correct horizontal view. (started acting up within 2-3 days of usage)
Second phone:
just recently started acting up (have had for about a month) and when writing a text (using the QWERTY keypad) the screen will spaztically flip to the vertical view and show the touch screen keypad. It is quite annoying because if I close and reopen, it changes, but immediately goes back to the vertical view.

I am also on my second LG Xenon and having the exact same problem you are having. I absolutely love this phone, but this issue is irritating. I've performed a master reset on this one, because that is what they had me do when I called tech support last time, but still no change. I'm past my 30 days, or else I would definitely exchange it for a better phone.
Hopefully someone can provide help, as I'm very frustrated with my phone!

I hope this one works out better for you, rebelgirl.....

I've had my phone for about 3 months now and in the past few weeks it's started to turn off when I close the qwerty screen. This is very annoying because I don't always notice the phone has turned itself off. After this happened about 5 or so times, I also realized that the message I sent before closing the keyboard is sitting in my drafts. This has been an on-going problem and is getting very annoying.
I don't have insurance, has anyone had luck with returning phones with no insurance if it's an issue with the phone?
Thanks for any comments on this subject!

My son has this phone we got it for him in July 2009. We are on our third phone. The warranty on the phone is good for a year. However, I am not happy that AT&T takes the word of LG for any known problems then actually monitoring the returns for this phone. It has had to cost them more now that we our on our third phone and second try at a battery then it would have just to allow me to change the phone brand.
My son's phone just shuts off nor will it hold a charge. 3rd phone and if it happens again AT&T stated that they would replace the phone with a different brand phone.
This has taken a while to see this whole process work itself out. Meanwhile my son has had to deal with the hassle of having a phone that does not stay charged past an hour 1/2 or just shuts off all the time.
AT&T told me there were no known issues regarding the Xenon and what we had happening to my sons phone. Obviously they aren't paying attention to the returns. All they say is they go to LG to see if there are any known issues. Isn't that like saying they will believe anything even somebody selling swamp land?
Let me know if you ever got a different phone or if finally got a Xenon that works.
Thanks,

I am actually on my fourth phone. I have called At&T constatly and they troubleshooted the phone, replaced the sim but the same problem ( i cant get a connection when I call someone, it does not connect right away) still exsists. At &T will not replace my phone with a brand new phone. they only replace the phones with refurbished phones.
Obviously there is some type of problems with the phones otherwise they would not have to reburish phones. I am in the process of trying to obtain a brand new phone and not a refurbished phone.
This is what I call poor customer service!!!

I am soooo tired of all this phone... I love the phone except the NO Signal issue. Everyone around me has signal but me. My daughter and I both have the Xenon and we both have this issue. This tells me that it is not just isolated. I actually have to borrow other peoples phones to make a call. What is AT&T going to do for us? I think we need to complain more to at&t until they make it right.
LG's, I believe, are known for poor signal quality. I previously had Nokia's and had NO signal issues at all until I bought an LG Shine. It was the WORST for signal..at times I would have NONE at all and would have to power cycle my phone in order to receive a signal. I recently upgraded and went back to Nokia. I haven't had a signal problem since.

Unfortunately, this IS ATT's policy. It is not poor customer service. I also had to return 2 phones...LG Shines...and they also were refurbs. If you are not satisfied with the condition a refurb is in, you can contact warranty and ask for another. If you are still having issues after 3 phones, you CAN ask for a different make/model. CC can offer you a comparable phone.

I also had reception issues with the GSM LG's that I've had in the past, which is when I switched to the Motorola V3xx. The CDMA LG's are much better in terms of quality and reception, so I am not sure why LG can't get it right as far as their GSM devices are concerned.

I tend to agree with you on the CDMA LG's. My friends that I work with are all on the Verizon Network and most have LG's, of one kind or another. I never hear them complain about reception! Go figure?

Are you making sure it is FULLY inserted? I'm not positive about where the memory card goes on the Xenon, but on my Shine it was on the side of the phone itself. I had to use something thin to push it in the rest of the way, like a credit card, to make sure it clicked in all the way.

My issue is that whenever my screen is on and I touch the area at the bottom of the screen where the at&t symbol my screen turns really really bright. As soon as i stop touching that area it goes back to normal, but this is really annoying. Anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it?

I also had the issue with the screen going really bright, on my refurbished replacement phone...
We went to the store tonight and they told us it was a short and we had to get it replaced but that it would be covered under warranty. As far as temporary fixes, I have just tried to push it in another place and that usually makes it stop but it is really annoying when it persists. Good luck!
