Nokia 6126 weird sound pattern [ Edited ]

I noticed that my phone makes this weird sound pattern like once or twice a day.  It's like a low, muffled, slightly staticky sound that goes:  doo-di-do    doo-di-do    doo-di-do   doo-di-do

Just like that. It makes that doo-di-do sound 4 or 5 times.  It happens when my phone is not in use (when I'm not talking on it).  Anyone know what it is?  It's really annoying.

I just wanted to add something I remembered.  The noise pattern sounds like when you're making a call to someone and you're waiting for them to pickup sometimes you'll hear that same doo-di-do pattern.  I don't know if anyone knows what I'm talking about but it's like that same sound is coming through on speakerphone or something.  It just happened again right now before I received a call and it repeated more than 4 times.  It was like 7 times then it faded out slowly.  Oh yea this phone is refurbished.

It may be GSM buzz - it can happen if you have your phone sitting close to non-shielded speakers, like computer speakers or a telephone.  When your phone receives network updates it can occur - or many times I can tell I'm getting ready to get a call or a text message due to the buzz that occurs immediately prior.

Yes I believe you're right.  I searched for "GSM buzz" and found youtube videos showing the exact same problem I had.  I had the phone close to my alarm clock which has a radio.  One video recommends buying something called snap choke cores which are iron ferrite rings that clamp on to speaker cables and cancel out the electro-magnetic interference.  Those are like 3 bucks.  Another video I saw claims to be able to fix it by putting the phone on what appears to be those foil envelopes that hard drives and pci cards comes packaged in. 

I have one of those foil packages lying around so I'll give that a try.  Thanks for the help!  I thought it might have been the phone that was defective and was ready to swap it. I have an older phone that I would routinely place by the alarm clock and it didn't have this problem.
