Just got this phone last night and cannot figure out how to set different ringtones for each contact.
Can't find how-to in the user's guide or on the internet.

To move contacts from sim card to phone:
Open Address Book
Select Contacts
Highlight the contact you want to move
Use left soft key and select Options
Scroll down to #8 Copy and Move
Then select #1 to move only that one contact to phone
OR you can select #3 and move all contacts to phone
That should work for you!

ntimbol
what are you trying to do?
Do you already have contacts on your sim card? Follow the instructions above to move them to phone.
Do you have contacts on phone and want to move them to the sim card? Same instructions except choose option to move them to sim card not phone.
Do you need to create contacts?
I guess I need more information to help you any more than this.

Ok....I got it now...here is how you do it:
go to Menu
select Address Book
then select #6 Memory in Use
Select
1)Sim if you want to sim contacts only
2)Phone if you want to see phone contacts only
3) Phone and Sim if you want to see both of them together.
That should help you get the contacts where you want them. ![]()

Ok, so I stored all my contacts to the phone and now I can see the option for ringtone, So i selected the song that i have on my memory card where I have some music and then it says "Setting not allowed"... So why won't it let me set a mp3 song as a ringtone??
This is so frustrating I just switched phones and with my old phones I had all kinds of different songs as ringtones for different people... I'm so used to it. Please help me out.... Thanks

Sounds like the MP3 file that your choosing is too big to be a ringtone.

Anyone have an answer to this one?
I'm having the same problem. I suspect it may be a filesize limitation because the MP3 I want to use is 585.6KB. Other MP3s which work perfectly without this error have a filesize of > 150kb.

The phone wont let me assign ringtones to contacts.
They are all the correct size yet the option is not available when I edit my contacts list. What a drag!

This drove me crazy too, "setting not allowed". Turns out your MP3 has to be under 300kb to be set as an alarm tone or ringtone. So you have to do some editing to the mp3 (choose a slice of the song basically) and/or compress the file. One good place I've found to do this is: makeownringtone.com. There is also a free version of WavePad Song Editor that will let you fade out a song if you need to get it down under 300kb. Once you do that, save it to your external memory (need to buy that extra) in the Audio folder.
