When taking pictures with a Solstice that has a memory chip, do the pictures automatically go to the memory chip versus the phone memory? Or, does one have to transfer them to the memory chip to free up phone memory? I have read the user manual but couldn't find anything referencing this question. Thanks for any help.

It will only go to the memory card if you have it set that way. It should be in your settings menu as an option.
Check page 96 in your manual.

Since your question was answered, I have one for you. As an owner of a Solstice, give me the good and the bad. I am considering upgrading to this device and want all the information I can get before making the leap.
Thanks

Hi Ghostryder,
I may not be the best spokesperson for the Solstice as my wife and I don't fully use all it's utilities. That being said, we find it to be a very user friendly phone, love the qwerty board feature without having to "slide" the board out. This is the first phone we have had that my wife actually likes. That possibly speaks volumes! Previous phones were Nokia, LG and a couple versions of Sony flips. Call quality and use is great. Screen/menu navigation is easy. Camera has great features, easy to use and takes great pictures. With the SD micro memory chip transfers to a PC using the data cable are a snap. We also downloaded the Samsung PC Studio program so can effect transfers from the phone itself. Easy to transfer items from phone to PC or PC to phone. We don't use the internet feature enough to rate it. All in all, we are both extremely happy and have phones that are relatively current in today's tech environment. We are both retired so probably don't work the phone as hard as younger users. I don't think you would be disappointed.

Khopkey.
Thanks for the info. I was leaning toward the Samsung Impression, but the slid out keyboard had me doubting it's longevity. That's when I say the Solstice. I will be using it for texting with my daughter who's in University and getting onto the web is not so important..Maybe at a later date.
Again, thanks for your input.

I love my Solstice! Just had a little over a week and I had it figured out mostly without any books or anything. I use the internet occasionally and have been super happy with that, the text and the FB option I can put on my front page. I have assigned ringtones and pics. to my contacts in a snap, and I'm not a comp. whiz....actually 65 and just did it very quickly. I get my ringtones free on Myxer.com, and lots of beautiful and funny wallpapers....AND the Solstice does animated wallpaper so I was thrilled with that.
Haven't found anything I DIDN'T like yet.........hope that helps....
