Samsung a177 sim crash

Alright, so I have a samsung a177 go phone, and i just decided to activate it, so i followed the instructions, took the sim card off the thing it came attatched to, and after i finished what i was supposed to do, i turned the phone on to use it, and it says "Sim Crash" I have no idea what this means. Can someone please help me?

Your SIM card should function in any unlocked AT&T phone, even if it's a prepaid phone. It sounds like you may need your SIM card replaced. AT&T Corporate stores will usually give you a SIM card free of charge.

I have the same problem. I have a new sim card on an a177 phone and it is giving me "sim crash".
