So here it is yet another day and yet another way at&t is sticking it to us.
I was given a iPhone 3Gs as a gift and have been using it a Go Phone for over a year. YES IT CAN BE USED AS A GO PHONE BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN DOING IT. I wanted to say that because there are some people out there ( at&t employees ) who has said it can't be used in this way. While you can not fault them, they have to do what the BIG GREEDY BOYS upstairs tell them.
Anyway, I've been using this as a Go Phone because I ONLY was using it for emergencies, but started purchasing data for it as listed below (taken from THEIR WEBSITE)
200 Messages $4.99
1000 Messages $9.99
Unlimited messages $19.99
International Long Distance
Data Packages
Data 10MB $5.00
Data 100MB $15.00
Data 500MB $25.00
While I've been doing this for a while now, my wife wanted to get one so without telling me she went to the devil ( at&t ) and got a go phone as well. she was able to get a smart phone after 7 months and started ALSO using the data as I was.
She went online today to BUY MORE FROM at&t and a message basically told her that at&t was NO LONGER going to "ALLOW" us as consumers to BUY data on a as needed basis for smart phones.
WAY TO GO at&t. That's sticking it to us. You are SO RIGHT and we are SO WRONG. You KNOW what we NEED and you KNOW what we can AFFORD. You the MIGHTY at&t as ALWAYS RIGHT in telling me what we can and can not do.
Anyway, I'm sure everyone can tell where this is going, and that I have NO LOVE (not even a hint of even "like" for the machine that IS at&t, but I did want to make sure that everyone else knows that I think it's REALLY SMART of AT&T to STOP people who have Smart Phones from getting data plans on a pay as you need basis. I think it's REALLY SMART of AT&T to FORCE PEOPLE into doing what AT&T wants them to do and not what they want to or can afford to do. I think it's REALLY SMART of AT&T to TAKE AWAY what people already have and tell them, NOPE no more. I think it's REALLY SMART of AT&T to do all these things because SOONER or later the REALLY SMART people will tell AT&T, what THEY CAN DO.
By us, as consumers taking our business somewhere else.
When AT&T keeps pushing and pushing, and not caring what I AS A CONSUMER has to say, well they will do what I just did, Send a group email to EVERYONE ON THEIR email CONTACT LIST, telling them whats going on and then DROPPING AT&T.
And while most people wont do anything, sooner or later AT&T WILL take something away from them, and then they will realize it is too late because they didn't do anything when they had the chance.
Way to go at&t, hopefully sometime in my lifetime, YOU WILL BE NO MORE.

So just to understand this - you are upset becasue att is enforcing their policies concerning the iphone not being support as a go-phone? What am I missing here?
