How do you turn off the Lock/Unlock feature on the keyboard so it doesn't keep popping up/displaying all the time?
It's so annoying when I slide my phone shut, or do anything in general and that silly LOCK KEYPAD? box pops up. If that isn't enough annoyance, it then tells me KEYPAD LOCKED - PRESS UNLOCK. So I hit the soft key UNLOCK and then it pops up in a little box... KEYPAD UNLOCKED.
Please, please tell me there IS a way to turn off this feature and stop the madness! ![]()

hi Janer01,
Try going thru the Menu key the, onto Settings. Coose the Phone option. Scroll thru until you get the Security tab.
When the lock feature is enabled, it asks for your password. Enter the password and it should show Options. I think you can turn the Lock feature Off/On from there.
I'll look for the User Manual that came with the phone when I bought it to double check. My memory isn't what it was 30 years ago...
B.W.

There is another way to stop this nuisance--return the phone for one that doesn't constantly interrupt you.
You are allowed an exchange within the first 30 days, and after that you can argue that based on the "implied warranty of merchantability."
This simply means that when you buy something, it functions for the purpose for which you bought it. A can opener opens cans, a refrigerator stays cold inside, and so forth.
Samsung has produced an item they call a mobile phone, but with all the random button pushing, it falls short of serving the purpose for which I bought it.
Anybody had any experience with a Pantech Matrix?

The keyboard will lock when you close the slide and unlock when you open the slide. Did you mean using the phone with closed slide? If that is the case then yes, you have to unlock first before you can use the phone with a closed slide. What are your settings under Phone/Slide Settings?

By the way, mine never asks me to lock or unlock, it just does it when I slide it closed. The only time it asks me to unlock it is if I don't slide it up before trying to use it, but you can fix that by going throught the procedure for slide settings that I suggested earlier. Just know that if you do that and then hit that center button, your going straight to the At&t mall.

I know this problem. And I fixed this problem. Go to:
- Menu
- Settings
- Phone
- Slide Down Settings
- Then select Continue Operation
Now, this will stop the phone from automatically locking. However, it then WILL ask you as soon as you close it, every time "Lock Keypad?"
If you ignore it, it'll lock automatically.... again. Or you can select No and it will obey and not lock. Either way it goes, you have to tell it somethin.
So really, its more or less pick your poison.
May the force be with you!
