I keep getting this error: "For this operation, move to idle screen" when trying to update the phone with the Pantech Software.
Is there a fix on this problem or do we have to take the phone back to AT&T for a refund? ![]()
Thanks

Did you download the drivers fromthe Pantech site? I don't really know, I don't use it. I just take my sd card out and plug it direct into my laptop to download all my stuff.

Don't think I need to download any drivers when I already have the Pantech Suite software. Nothing in the install mentions additional drivers are needed to be downloaded.
Looks like AT&T isn't interested in this problem or they would have answered this aready. I have noticed others mentioning this error for their other Pantech phones and AT&T is silent.

"For this operation, move to idle screen" means that the display screen of your phone should have the time clock and the background picture.
The instruction or the error message was not obvious :-)

I'm on the background picture with the time clock and I'm still getting this message.
Very frustrating.

I too was seeing the error to go to "idle screen" and in fact as soon as I set my phone to that screen the transfers went smoothly.

"
I keep getting this error: "For this operation, move to idle screen" when trying to update the phone with the Pantech Software."
I finally figured out how to fix this issue. I believe this issue is for all Pantech phones that uses Carrier based operating systems. Meaning the OS is by AT&T not Pantech. So the issue can be with Ease, Breeze, and other Pantech phones.
I can only tell you how to fix for Pantech Ease. I am not sure if this would work on others.
First, covert your phone to Advance mode from Settings> Phone Mode > Advance Mode. This changes the interface of the phone. Now if you notice you can see three bar above the menu right above the links on the screen. Check the image.
This is how the Advance Mode Idle looks like. Advance Mode Menu

Do you see the little orange bar right above Contact and Inbox on the left image? That's the screen you must be in to transfer any information from the Pantech Suite. If you flick your finger to the right or left, you screen will change.
This is how the Easy Mode Idle looks. This is how the Easy Mode Menu looks like.

Hope this helps. Please fix any incorrect information as you guys see fit.

THANK YOU -
I've been trying to get my pictures for several days. Read this post, put the magic orange bar in the middle and behold, my PC can see my pictures, I can transfer my pictures. I'm so happy I think I'll stop considering using the phone as a fetch toy for my neighbors dog.
The cable is important. I bought another one so I could charge the phone at work, the nice sales person asked me if I needed a "Power cord" - I said yes and she sold me a cable. It DOES NOT work as a data transfer cable.
Once, again - thanks for the solution.

Our pantech Pursuit keeps randomly shutting off. Even the replacement phone is doing that. Tech support just has us remove and replace the battery, and is just plain dumfounded. My 3 yr old is smarter than they are. Pantechs support is even less helpful.

With the Pursuit II phone, if the "unlock" screen is on, the idle screen message prevents anything from happening. You need to unlock the phone (after it is connected to the PC and the PC Suite software is running) so that your main welcome screen is showing, then the file transfers, music transfers etc. work fine.

OMG huge kudos Darkcola !!!!to you I have been from att to pantech and believe me I think pantech was even less interested. I am curious how you figured it out?
Pantech couldn't have made instructions for the suite any more unclear than if they covered it in mud. Thanks again.!![]()
