Is the samsung a177 a smartphone? Is is one of the phones that requires a data plan?
I am trying to find phone with a full qwerty keyboard that is not a smartphone, suggestions would be appreciated

AFAIK, it isn't a 'smart phone'. I had a non-working phone as part of my Family Plan. Called and spoke to 3 different CSR's who assured me its not a smart phone. I bought one to replace a non working phone and was disappointed there wasn' t a slot for a micro mem card.
