I recently recieved a pantech impact from a friend. I downloaded and installed pc suite from pantech, yet my computer wont recognize that the device is attached. I set the connectivity to "ask when connected" yet the phone does nothing when i plug it in to the computer.
It will begin to charge but in all other ways there is no evidence that the phone is connected to the computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software, restarted the computer etc, and I know there are no issues with the usb port that I am using.
The charger and cable are separate. The charger plugs into the wall ( ZERO charger I believe is the model ) and then the usb cable plugs into it and the phone ( no model number, only att stamped on it). However, I noticed that the cable does not have the usb symbol on it. Instead it has a power symbol .... what looks like a battery with a lightning bolt through it.
Do all usb cables for chargers works as both power and data?
Is there some other suggestion as to why my phone wont be recognised by the computer?
Pc studio will not connect through either usb or bluetooth. I can however use my bluetooth software installed on my computer to find and access the files on the phone, but this is a rather long process with litlle functionality.
What to do? What to do? .........
Thanks in advance for any help .
Dave
