Hmm. I ordered a black 16GB and a white 16GB at the extact same time on 10/14 in the store. They both went off backorder yesterday, and I just received the black one about an hour ago from the FedEx delivery guy.. Still no tracking information on my white one... : (

ok.....the order number is a 3 digit number.  possibly a 4 digit number with later orders.  you can find it on your store reciept or in the order status email that was sent to you.  im thinking that there are a different set of order numbers pertaining to what storage size and color you ordered.  my white 16g 4s is order number 666.  honestly.....im not even sure these order numbers have anything to do with the order in which they fill the orders.  im just one of many people who are being a bit impatient and getting ideas while i am iphoneless.  good luck all

Place my order online at AT&T on 10/24/11 for black Iphone 4s 16GB on backorder however I have a a cell number but have to wait 21 to 28 days for shipment.

When somebody just creates an account on forum to let everybody know about the delivery of phones. That makes me think : Too Good To Be True...

Black 16GB 4S ordered on 10/8 but Terms & Agreement email received on 10/11. Got it through Fedex on 27th. Didnt like the color so went to store for exchange. Ordered in store White 16GB 4S on 27th and still back ordered. With this pace I think I will get it on the 14th Nov.

All of the orders I can access for my area placed on or before 10/17 are now off backorder. All orders with a later date are still backordered. So it seems that they are starting to catch up. If this new two week time frame holds up I should have mine by next week.

Well dan203 I place and order on the 12th at att store in new York my Oder # is 140 &141 but the Oder. Of 134 has ben ship and deliver to the store the rest of the number after me have been ship the number that I put I'm like 135,6,7,8,9 some of them say cancel or error so I don't now what AT&T is doing right now all this number are sopped bet going to the store

yea...I have heard some things about people getting their phones earlier than those that ordered sooner.  I'm really starting to believe that the order numbers are not related to what place in line you are for the phone.  Only reason i upgraded was because my 4 was stolen.  I am dying without it, but I know ill see it withing a week or so.  ill post my info after each update to my order in support of the community.

Hey everyone! Like many of you, I have been carefully if not obsessively following this forum since ordering my iPhone 4s. Today my phone finally came off of backorder. I ordered the phone on 10/21 at about 7pm through ATT's premier online store. My phone was a 16GB White. I was pretty surprised and happy to see that my phone came off of backorder so quickly. I realize that to most of us 12 days doesnt seem very quick, but considering my email conformation told me I should expect to wait 3-4 weeks i was very excited. Anyway, it seems to me after reading what other posters have said and what i experienced, the phones are now beginning to ship faster. I think now that the initial rush to get phones out has slowed we will see many more phones shipping over the next week or two. As for what people have said about white phones shipping faster or slower, I haven't seen a difference. Some posters had white phones ship fast others had them ship slow. I think ATT has a very complex (and disorganized) system of prosessing orders . From what i have noticed it is based on geographic location and demand for a certain phone. Most people ordered 16GB White from what i have seen. Apple probably expected this and made more than the other models. This doesnt mean they are shipping faster because like i said they are im higher demand. My guess is that they tried to guess proportionally how many people would want each model of phone in what color and made them accordingly. Geographic location also seems to be a big factor. I think the more comercialized and metropolitan the area you live in the harder it is to get a phone. the more people in an area, the more demand, the harder to get one. But thats just my opinion. I wish everyone the best of luck with their new phones and i hope they all come soon. Remember though, these are only phones. They don't run the world and when they get here you will forget you ever had to wait anyway. Good luck and God Bless!

I'm only seeing a long # as my order #. Where are you seeing this 3 digit number? I ordered from Att website. Not premier. I ordered iphone 4S on 10-30 but its showing the 31st. I'm not up for waiting 3 weeks. I've already lost my patience. Hopfully it will be sooner than later.

 

 

I ordered 3 white iphone 4s 16gb on 10/24/11 and it is still backordered... Do you know how much longer im going to have to wait like according to the times everyone else got their phones? Just wanted to update everyone that if you order new now the shipping time now says 14-21 days for the iphone 4s not 21-28 days just to let everyone know. maybe att got alot in stock and they are speeding things up

I think it should be between closer to 20-21, but not quite, like maybe 18-19

They are just phones! And it sucks when you are so used to the technology then have to go with out.. But life isn't about technology! We will all b fine and our phones will eventually b in our hands! Well as I said before I ordered 10/22 white 4s 16gb..(in California) I'm praying I only have a week left of waiting!!
