Maybe it was 90 days, I don't remember that detail too well. But I do remember they wouldn't let me pay the etf and retain service. Even their website suggests that the etf is only applicable for accounts that are being closed.

In any case I'm more interested in how they determine the phone is eligible for unlock for those who want to upgrade their old phones after upgrading -- I still have my old iPhone 4, but that phone was replaced a few times under warranty, so the imei doesn't match the original phone I got with that contract.
