lol good luck and yea tell us how good it is...

im hoping mine will ship tommorrow cause i was 16th in line yesterday and they've been shipping 8 phones a day and im in 8th place right now lol. crossing my fingers and praying at my bedside that when i wake up i will have shipped by my phone.. btw its a 8 gb

Did you manually count the orders in front of you to know your spot in line? :smileyindifferent:

Hey also is it a good sign when they take the money out of your account the second time? does that basically say hey you will get it within 2-3 days?

Yeah i manually counted the people in front of me by going to this website: https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/order_status.jsp?vMethod=&vNumber=&ZipCode=

and putting in the zipcode of the store and and my order number and playing around with my order number... say my order number is 13454... then i do 13453 and 13452 and so on to see whos in front of me and what number i am to get my iphone.

Yippee!  Ordered 8G black on 7-29-08;
Received e-mail notification of shipment today (8-06-08). 
Assuming it arrives tomorrow as expected, it will have been 7 business days!

Hope for all 16GB blk orders.  Last order of the day on saturday, 8/2 (4:30pm or so).  Email confirmation arrived 8/3.  Shipped 8/6 with a tracking # to arrive 8/7.  Hopefully this will give some hope for the 16GB blk orders that have been the runt of the group so far.  Location - Antelope Valley, CA.

Hey all, nice forum, gives me something to do while im waiting for mine to come in.

Ordered an 8 GB on 8/4  im 9th in line at this point.  My store just sent out 2 today for the 7/29 orders, two other 7/29 orders are still in progress.  Im guessing around 10-12 days looks about right for me too!  Ordered from the Anderson IN store.  Good luck all, hope you all get your phones yesterday!

Yes, I had mine go off BO then back on.  

Then just now it is off BO....but no shipping.  

I ordered 8/3 at 5:05pm (5 minutes after the store closed - they locked me in - and forced me to order the iPhone hahaha)

Hope this is good news!   If so, that's less than a week!

Like someone was saying earlier, when your phone goes to backorder 0 then it means that there are models of your phone in the wharehouse. If they dont ship it out, you will be put on backorder till more come in.  You have to remember though, there are like 1300 att stores they have to ship to each day, as well as apple stores.  It seems like they ship out around noon to 3pm each day, at least that is what fedex says.  My store has only been getting like 2 or 3 in a day from the order status page im tracking.  THat puts me early to mid next week I hope!  The good thing about my store is no one ordered a phone on 8/2 or 8/3, not sure why???  So I hope they send mine out being the 4th when they are sending out the 1st and 2nd ones to others!  I doubt it though, im not that lucky!

wierd... on the order page it says that the 3rd and 4th orders were shipped... and im off bo again... i dont kno whats going to happen... at least im 6th in line, hopefully it will ship tommorrow

I honestly hope my 16GB black is cancelled that way i will order a 16GB white iphone and it still probaly will get here faster than this freaking black 16GB iphone which was orderd 31 july 08

the way I checked was I took my order number and put it in the AT&T order status page. Then I checked the previous 20 numbers above mine. Ex. 61631 is mine. I checked back to 61610 to see which ones were shipped and which ones are still in progress. U can then get an idea of where u are in the queue. Do u know the website to check ur status?

Update went  and got my white 16gb  today  from the manger.  order on 7/30  shipped on 8/4   at the store 8/5
had to go back and get it today  because Att has people working for them that dont  know what there doing....

So im posting this in case you guys/girls wanted to know, basically this is what happened
 
31 july 08-ordered 16 gb black iphone
31 july 08-email confirmation from AT&T for order
31 july 08-bank account debit pending $299
 
6 aug 08-bank account debit no longer pending funds returned +$299
6 aug 08-AT&T order status IN PROGRESS
6 aug 08-AT&T order status CANCELLED
 
call at&t they have no idea what happened, call AT&T store where i purchased they have no idea but tell me just come in today and order the white 16gb iphone and i will get it three days max. so of course i go and re-order the white 16gb phone, while im there i talk to this lady behind me who says and i qoute "i ordered my white 16gb iphone 1 aug 08 and its here 6 aug 08" yes ppl she ordered the phone 1 full day after me and got the phone before me. The only thing i can make out is once a charge is pending on my bank account if it isnt processed within 3 days its removed but than again thats not for certain. I will keep you guys informed if i get the phone in three days from today.

The only thing that sucks about checking your spot in line like that is the frikin picture text thing. lol

I ordered mine 8/4.

I'm pretty close to just stopping by the store and canceling, then going to the apple store (two in my area) and buying it there. I didn't realize they were STOCKED at the Apple store until i had already DF'd with ATT...
