Just Had My First Bad Experience With Customer Service
[ Edited ]01-18-2012 09:17:38 AM - edited 01-18-2012 09:20:47 AM
I just called in to inquire about getting an additional STB (receiver) for my Slingbox. I had previously received a mailing from AT&T offering an additional STB for 12 months free but, at the time, I didn't want one and threw the mailing away. So, I called in to see if this promotion was possibly still available to me. The CSR I spoke with was very short with me and rude. I was very nice and respectful with her. So, I have now experienced for myself the poor customer service from U-Verse. I'm not concerned that she could not/would not give me the promotion. It was the way she talked to me.

Yea, not a big deal, but a little disappointing. I'm also disappointed I didn't get my additional free STB although I wasn't really expecting to.

Not really. Judging by your name, i see how much that you love U-Verse and AT&T. Puhleez!
What Jim has experienced, in my opinion, is very rare. I have had maybe 1 or 2 bad CSR's and 1 bad tech (Bad Mike) out of dozens. I would say that 99 times out of 100, I have been pleased. Better than Comcast. Better than Allstate Life Insurance (the pits).

Your Results May Vary, In My Humble Opinion
I Call It Like I See It, Simply a U-verse user, nothing more

Jim, I know that we don't always see eye to eye but I would seriously send Alex a PM. Business leaders like to know who does a great job and who doesn't. That CSR needs an attitude adjustment.

It's really not a big deal. I didn't get the CSR's name or ID. I went straight to tech support using the dial-in directory. There were no phone transfers at all. I didn't have the number off the original offer I received in the mail. I could probably call retentions and talk them into it which I may try later. I already have 2 STB's that are free for 12 months, plus the DVR. I also have $10 off U300, $5 off internet, and free HD. I can't really complain.

plse my post
Actually, I couldn't disagree with you more. I think U-Verse is great. I've had zero technical problems and 3 interchanges with customer service. This is the first CSR that seemed to have an attitude. I was somewhat surprised and disappointed.

Maybe something Alex could help with?
Or call back and get another agent?

Yea, I may try again later. Or, I may call retentions and make a request. With 2 free receivers, they may be willing to throw in a 3rd.

Or *find* one online (stolen) and see if they'll activate it. j/k!
They're probably trying to push those new Wireless boxes. ![]()

oh man that sucks! well i had my first BAD experience today too. I apparently got sent to collection for a balance I never knew about. I moved from my apt to a house in september and I had called them to see if they can transfer my service...the girl recommend that I cancel it all and start a new acct...i thought she knew what she was doing since she was more of a "pro" then I was. So she did it after it was said and done she was suppose to call me back to inform me of the changes...no call i called them back to follow up and come to find out now i was being charged an early cancellation fee.I had to fight them for it and well I won..but now from that incident I have this collection letter for 70 bucks that I neever knew about. I talked to the agent and then to a supervisor told her my concern and basically she did not want to deal with it so she sent me to collection department to help me with the situation and what ended up happening was that they were giving me a hard time basically not addressing my concern but bugging me about paying that fee. it's a small fee if I knew i had it i would have paid it I have bigger problems to worry about becuase they messed up my credit. So i called back and asked for another supervisor and basically the girl wanted me to tell her what happen before she cold find a supevisor for me because they were experiencing "high" volume calls....man sorry my issue was not important enough! Basically I talked to the girl and she made it seem as if I wanted them to pay that 70ish dollar or something when really I wanted the issue itself to be addressed and the right actions to be taken! I HATE AT&T!
